“Decent Breakfast”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

We came here for breakfast on our last day. The dining room has big beautiful windows looking out into the trees. They also have a big patio with an outside bar area that looks like it would be nice for lunch, dinner or a drink.

$10-15 for a breakfast entree which included normal breakfast fare (no waffles though). Our waitress wasn't too friendly but the manager was going to each table helping out, taking orders, getting drinks etc. and he was really nice.

I'd probably come back to the beautiful outdoor patio!

“A Mixed Bag”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

Our lunch on arrival was disappointing. My burger was expensive at $15 and was overcooked. My wife's fish and chips was disappointing also. Breakfast was much better. We had Eggs Benedict, French Toast and Bacon and Eggs, all of which were good. There are better options within driving distance.

“Great place to dine in a lodge in a redwood forest at Big Sur”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

The lodge is a very short distance off Cabrillo Highway in Big Sur, done in a wood style one would expect, feeling very rustic and warm. Through the big windows of the dining room we enjoyed the wooded surroundings while dining. Service was quick and cheerful. This place offers a wonderful contrast after an afternoon of seeing sights along the fantastic Pacific coast. On a next trip we definitely would consider staying overnight here.

“One step up from camping”
Reviewed 8 May 2014

High price, nice bed, low service. Great location to stay if you want to hike. Eat elsewhere, better food within 2 miles either way.

“Good for a quick bite to eat”
Reviewed 23 March 2014

We got a sandwich at the deli counter as the restaurant was not open yet. Prices there looked expensive. Our turkey sandwiches were a lot of bread and short on the turkey - for $7.50 each. But we needed a quick meal on our trip along the coast. The setting here - the lodge - is charming and has nice views of the redwoods and surrounding forest. We ate in a cozy area that felt more like a den than a cafeteria. That was nice and relaxing.
