“beautiful day trip”
Reviewed 21 July 2012

if you don't want to pay the parking, just park on the side of the road and hike in. the falls are beautiful, and it's amazing that this site was created in 1983 due to a landslide just to the north of it!Lots of people, and I mean lots of people, on the trails. come early in the morning if you can.

“Highly Recommend a stop off here”
Reviewed 12 July 2012

The park entrance fee is a bit steep considering that one of the major hikes that originate from this Park are closed. I would recommend parking on the side of the highway if space is available and walking in. Most come to see McWay Falls, which is a must see. The hikes are very short from the parking lot (~0.5 miles) and offer tremendous views.

“Gorgeous, Splendid Views”
Reviewed 10 July 2012

Driving up Highway 1 between Los Angeles and San Francisco, this State Park is not to be missed. There was plenty of parking on the highway and also in the park itself. We first visited an "ancient" power plant that was actually used until 1980. But the gem of this park is the view overlooking the Pacific Ocean... a lovely cove with a waterfall emptying into it, numerous rock outcroppings, a wide array of colorful wildflowers and various native trees. The history of this area is fascinating, both the human and the geological aspects.

“Loved the short hike to the falls”
Reviewed 9 July 2012

Easy trails here. If you want a nice place to picnic, leave the parking lot and follow the trail within a few minutes you will find some secluded tables. Everyone was hovering around the tables in the parking lot when they could have been eating in the forest.
