My husband and I were doing the HWY 1 drive from San Fran to LA. We stopped at this Inn in Big Sur. What a fantastic place. This place is a must stay. We only stayed 1 night, as it was all booked up :(
We stayed in suite #9 in the main lodge - king room. We had our own private patio with a huge tree in the middle of it. There was an inside/outside fireplace that you could see from the bedroom. There was no TV, but you don't need it (and I'm a TV junkie). The bathroom has heated floors. Very modern decor. There is a breakfast place next door. Very reasonable prices. We went for dinner at another hotel called Ventena - fab. Approx $100 - but worth it.
Best thing we did in Big Sur was Pfiffer Beach. The beach is really hard to find, but if you ask anyone at the Inn - they will be able to tell you how to get there. Go at sunset - beautiful.
Enjoy - it was our favourite place!
