We spent one night here as part of our honeymoon trip and it was terrific.
There's several wooden cabins in the woods but these are luxurious and so cosy.
They're equipped with a fire pit just outside the door and things to use to toast marshmallows. The fire pit is also already set up - all you need to do is light it up and enjoy.
The cabin was terrific, very comfortable and romantic. I would not hesitate to return.

Enjoyed two nights here. We were lucky to receive a complementary bottle of champagne upon check in for my husbands birthday. We were in #5 an end unit which was very quiet and private. It had a large enclosed patio. We enjoyed the heated floor in the bathroom as well as the retro decor. There is coffee available in the office and an outdoor fireplace in the evening. The office is helpful with dinner reservations. It is well situated for local sightseeing. Enjoyed our stay, bedding and towels were 1st rate.

We stayed three nights mid-week for a get-away from the Bay Area. The rooms are mid-century modern in a kind of cozy-way. Comfortable, very clean and understated which is in keeping with the relaxed feeling of the natural beauty of Big Sur The bathroom floors are heated which spoiled us fast. The landscaping is fabulous - so beautifully done that you feel happy just walking to and from your room or cabin. (I'm a landscape designer - this was great design!) There is a beautiful area with wooden benches, a river rock fountain and a fire pit that is nice for evenings under the stars. The only thing we wished for was some good reading light over the bed. This little gem is very well run - you don't see anything amiss and the staff is very pleasant.

Room Tip: The end-units seem to have the nicest, most private patios.

We had two rooms in the adobe motor lodge for three nights.

The room renovations and landscaping make this a wonderful place. They were really nicely done. The communal gas fire is a great place to roast marshmallows at night.

It really is a MOTEL though. You're 15 yards from your car and the parking lot (guests setting off their car alarms) and 40 yards from the main road where cars and trucks zip by at 45mph (we kept the room's table fan running 24 hours a day to drown out the car noise).

It's not a place you hang out at; it's a place you sleep, change your clothes and then head out to other places at big sur.

I'd stay here again for a night, but not for three nights. Whoever did the landscaping did a fabulous job; the motel doesn't look like a motel, but upscale suites instead.

Ps please put cushions on the chairs and benches; make these pleasant places to read a book.

We splurged and booked two nights in an Archie while staying in Big Sur. Rosa, at the front desk, was very pleasant and helpful at check in. We loved our accommodations. It was clean, isolated and large. We had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot, and kitchen sink. They bathroom was heavenly with large shower and to shower heads and heated floor. Bed was comfortable.

Great coffee is available in the office when they are open.

We spent the days hiking and evenings relaxing in our Archie.

I would suggest bringing your own food while in the area. Restaurants and general store were VERY expensive for what you get.

We stayed in the Little Sur cabins among the redwoods. We were in cabin 8, which is the most private and has the best fire pit. You're connected to cabin 7, but we never heard the other guests. Rooms are modest, but comfortable. Full wet bar with fridge and microwave.

Would describe it as upscale camping.

Room Tip: Little Sur Cabin 8

We stayed in the River View Cabin that overlooked the Big Sur River. The cabin was charmingly furnished and extremely comfortable. We LOVED the bathroom! The shower and heated floors revived us after a long day of hiking, and we loved sitting on the deck, watching our perfectly prepared fire, and listening to the river and the rustling redwoods. Our kitchen was so convenient for breakfast before going on the day's adventures. We had such a wonderful time!
