“YAXHAM WATERS - CLOUDBURST YURT”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

We stayed at Yaxham Waters over the first weekend of June with our three year old son. I probably shouldn't tell you about the peace and quiet for the adults or the freedom for the small child to explore barefoot, or the speed at which the woodburner warmed the yurt up at night, or the delight of a small boy when seeing the fairy lights come on for the first time each night when the sky darkened sufficiently. I probably shouldn't let you know that he never failed to get excited every time the steam train came past or that we were so warm and snug at night that we had the best sleep we have had for ages. We probably shouldn't mention the cleanliness of the site showers and toilets or the fact that the cafe has a great play area and ducks and goats to keep children amused while you enjoy a great fry up. I probably should keep quiet about how well equipped the yurt was and how we didn't want for anything, nor how clean it was when we arrived. I don't want to tell you any of this because I want to go back and I don't want to find that there is no availability. However, I am a kind and generous soul and although we never met Shane (he was on holiday when we visited), he seemed like a nice chap on the 'phone and I suppose I ought to let you go and see for yourselves what a wonderful place he has made.

Had a great time in a great location.
The yurts were very comfortable and well equipped with all you could need for a relaxing time away from it all.
Shane was very helpful and did everything he could to make our stay enjoyable. We would definately visit again and would strongly recommend this relaxing break as something different.8

Lovely warm welcome on arrival.
Stayed in the Tipi - 5 adults in total.
Even with 2 futons folded out there was still room to move around the Tipi.
Inside Tipi was well equipped with gas stove and woodburner (which kept us warm)
Solar lights all around the site and inside the Tipi with tealights also.
Very close to toilets and showers.
Enjoyed the hammock very much and had a BBQ in the evening also.
Would be great for a group of friends or a family - there is something to keep all ages amused :-)
The site with Yurts and Tipi is nicely separate from the rest of the campsite so felt more private than a normal campsite.
Excellent Farm shop on site and a café (where we had a cooked breakfast)
All round great experience and would defiantly recommend :-)
Only 4 miles from a Tesco Extra also (for supplies)

Glad you enjoyed your stay but if you had turned left out of the site you would have found the 24 hour Tescos less than a mile away

This was our first taste of camping/glamping and one to remember. What a fantastic holiday. We were met with a very warm welcome and were lucky enough to stay in one of the yurts. The yurt was very well equipped and had candles and fairy lights which made it very magical at night . Outside was a BBQ, seating area and a fire pit which we sat around at night while our young children played with the other children who were staying. The shower block was lovely and clean and the on site cafe was brilliant with an outdoor play area for the kids , so we could sit and have a drink while the kids played. The chef was very friendly as we're the staff and nothing was too much trouble . There were lots of places to visit nearby. Overall a great relaxing holiday and we will be booking for next year !!!

My Family of two boys, husband and dog had a very relaxing holiday. Shane Met us upon arrival and took us personally to out lovely Moonbeam Yurt,,, and , wow!! The Yurts were awesome (in the words of a 6 and 12 year old). Shane spent time showing us all we needed to know about staying on the site. We needn't of packed half the things we did as Shane has thought of every last detail to make our holiday as comfortable as possible. We took great advantage of all the little bonuses the yurt had to offer such as the wood burner for extra warmth during the night. The fire pit was great to sit round and melt some yummy marshmallows (don't forget to pack them!). The Barby was also put to good use :) The fact that everything was lit only with T-lights made everything feel very cosy, you soon accustomed to no electric. My sons (one with Autism) loved the holiday very much, making it a very much needed respite for mum and dad. You really did feel completely back to nature, stripped of all mod cons which gave us lots of quality family time together. Not once did my son complain of boredom with all the little outside games all the children played together with. All in all we will definately be back next year. Our little piece of tranquility (as much as you can with children!)

Room Tip: The Yurts are dark, so if you need extra light go for the Tipi or Bell tents, however the yurts have...

Lovely holiday, Shane met us and showed us this lovely well equipped Bell tent, with bed, and everything you need plus outside seating, bar b que and fire pit - even got us some wood. We loved the camp site the people we're all friendly and helpful and the showers we're free and hot at all times - some might say old fashioned but we felt it added to the charm and everything was clean as a whistle! Just had a brilliant time in the bell tent at Broad Farm. Shane was just fantastic, changing our dates due to a family bereavement. He met us there, explained everything and even lent us a rope for the dog and the kids a fishing net. Brilliant tent on a very good site and the fire pit and BBQ had other campers drooling! Would def come back and a day on the Broads from Matham is a must (boat for 7, £50)
