Staying with Jim and Loretta was like being at home, but so much better. Our very warm and welcoming hosts made our stay a very special experience. The surroundings were quite lovely and well cared for, however, it was really the amazing hospitality that made us wish that we could have stayed longer. One of the nicest experiences that we have ever had at a bed and breakfast thanks to the caring attention given to us. We would put this at the top of the list for travelers in the area!

Room Tip: The Athenos room was quite lovely. Clean, large and sunny!

We were thrilled with the special new room dedicated to people with pets! It was decorated beautifully, was clean and comfortable! Great claw foot tub in the bathroom too! Our gracious hosts recommended a near by Tavern which gave us a taste for the local flavor and we enjoyed the beach at nearby Lake Taghkanic and live music at Helsiniki in Hudson. Jim & Loretta prepared a wonderful breakfast tray that we enjoyed on our private patio making for a peaceful morning and a great start to our day! Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: The room off the historic "ice shed" is perfect for privacy and pets!

We spent one night at this fantastic B&B. It's located just off the Taconic and very close to the hip little town of Hudson.

Jim and Loretta ensure that every aspect of the home is kept in impeccable fashion. We stayed in the Athos room and loved it (great king sized bed, full private bathroom, flat screen cable TV, really good air conditioning, snacks and free beverages in their supplied fridge). We also toured the other rooms in the house. They are exactly as explained on their website. Clean, comfortable and private. Their new family room (which is also pet friendly) is lovely.

Their 3 course breakfast, goes on and on. Honestly, it is probably more like 4 courses, if you consider the cereal that is on the table too.

Run, don't walk to stay at Changing Times B&B. They fill up quickly. You won't regret it.

Impeccably appointed, immaculately restored and maintained, with historic charm and modern conveniences and comforts galore. Gracious, friendly, welcoming and very attentive hosts. Plus a breakfast fit for royalty -- both the cuisine and the service. I wish all travel was this nice! Thanks Loretta and Jim for a great overnight stay!

We loved this B&B! Jim and Loretta have done a magnificent job of remodel and decoration, each room/suite is picture perfect. Try and stay in the largest suite, with the huge bathroom, magnificent! The breakfasts are large, varied, and delicious. Our hosts were friendly, helpful, and entertaining. You can easily drive to local attractions, we went off to the Norman Rockwell museum in mearby Stockbridge MA.

We spent two nights here and would have extended our stay if we didn't have to get back to work! We loved our room: Beautifully decorated with locally sourced antiques of the Hudson River valley, nice and roomy for two, with a super comfortable bed for a great night's sleep. And since our stay coincided with an unexpected Nor'easter, we were very happy to stay in our room or head downstairs for tea and cookies. The breakfasts were superb too: three courses, prepared to order, homemade and so delicious. Hosts Jim and Loretta are thoughtful and very accommodating: there when you need them, and they treat you like family, also providing the living room to you for a cozy read from their diverse library or a good chat. I am looking forward to returning in the spring to enjoy the front porch! Also: Location is great. Close to all the major attractions, and easy to get in and out of. I also agree with one of the other reviews: This place raises the bar for B&Bs. I highly recommend Changing Times.

My wife and I had the enormous pleasure of spending two nights at Changing Times B&B, which we stumbled upon as we scrambled to find alternative plans when our original destination was flooded by Hurricane Irene. We were welcomed with open arms and treated like royalty by hosts Loretta and Jim.

We couldn't recommend this B&B with higher praise (and we've been to dozens if not hundreds of B&Bs through our extensive travels). The house itself was beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean, charming and quaint without being creaky . Our room (more of a suite) had an enormous, comfortable bed, mini-fridge, TV with DVD player (and a library of DVDs outside), fun curios and objects from Loretta's antiques business, a large bathroom and a second bedroom with a single bed (great for people traveling with kids). Because we were there mid-week after the Hurricane, there were no other guests, so we peeked in the other rooms and found them to be equally enticing and cozy. We would have happily staying in any of them.

Loretta and Jim obviously took great pride in their inn, and in their breakfast service, which was several courses long and featured fruit, baked goods, and made-to-order eggs, or waffles, or pancakes. Food was fresh and plentiful, and you really felt like you were being spoiled. But remarkably, our wonderful hosts were never intrusive or irritating--they knew how to be welcoming but to give us space to enjoy ourselves (I wish more B&B owners had this delicate skill).

Loretta and Jim also went out of their way to help us navigate our passage to our next destination, looking up open roads and calling local police departments on our behalf.

The B&B's location is ideal--a minute off the Taconic Parkway, the Inn is located about 12 minutes from Hudson, NY, with its upscale restaurants, antique stores and bars, and about 20 minutes from great farmstands (biodynamic Hawthorne Valley Farm in Harlemville is highly recommended). It's about 25 minutes from Bash Bish Falls and the Harlem Valley Rail Trail (great!).

We were planning to stay one night at Changing Times and then make our way by hook or by crook to the West Catskills. But we were so happy at the B&B that we decided to stay an extra night and leave a day later--a wise choice given the wonderful surroundings at Changing Times.

We'll definitely be back to this wonderful, comfortable base for exploring the magnificent riches of the Hudson Valley.
