“Relaxing country inn”
Reviewed 21 October 2013

Stayed at The Hostelrie for 2 nights in October. All the staff were welcoming and hospitable. The food was very good with an extensive choice, all home made, and there were lovely real ales to try. The room was comfortable, warm and lovely soft towels were provided along with individual toiletries. The B&B rate is very reasonable, with a full English breakfast. The area has lovely walks and Goodrich castle is minutes from The Hostelrie & is well worth a visit. Would certainly recommend The Hostlelrie at Goodrich. Well done to the new owners for making it a welcoming, relaxing country inn/hotel.

Met with friends for a 2 night stay. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and seemed to enjoy their work. Rooms clean, well equipped and comfortable. The price for room and food, with excellent breakfast was very reasonable.
The local area has so much to offer for a holiday.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at a lovely Inn in Goodrich, Ross on Wye. 'The Hostelrie' is well worth a visit. We stayed for 3 nights from 29th August and were really well looked after by the Team, mine host Ayrton, Emily and Madge to name but a few. Very attentive staff with excellent food.( our congratulations to the chef and his team as well). Very comfortable accommodation, reasonably priced, clean and tidy. We would definitely recommend this Inn to anyone visiting the area. Far superior to any other pubs in the area. Very popular with locals and visitors alike, this Inn will always do very well. We will definitely return. John & Jennie Ramsgate, Kent.

What a refreshing change to find a hotel where they really do care about your stay. We had a minor problem with the room but we were relocated immediately and without fuss. The bar was buzzing and the service commendable. The food too was excellent too. We will be switching to The Hostelrie from our usual hotel in the area from now on.

Room Tip: A great location for visiting Goodrich Castle, the Wye Valley or just a stop over on your way into W...

We were made very welcome by the landlord on arrival. this did not change throughout our 2 night stay. the room was very adequate and clean. We had dinner both evenings in the very nice dining room this adjoining bar and lounge with chesterfield settees. The food was extraordinarily good, delicious and very well presented. This is most definitely the dining experience not to be missed. It is the venue where you can 'dress-up' and enjoy. If you are local this is the place to go for that special meal. The breakfasts were very good with the usual selection and well presented. This was a 66 year birthday break and was well worth doing. Thank you Airton for a nice stay.

we held an event at the Hostelrie in Goodrich, after a charity Canoe and Walk, Being an event organiser I am very fussy and have stayed all over, however if you want a great pub with great food and amazing service you will struggle to beat the Hostelrie. Aryton and his partner are an amazing young couple trying to make a go of a very hard business and they are doing everything right. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. They recently took over and are trying to do the place up as they go and they are doing a great job. The Bedrooms are in need of some TLC however for the price they are good clean rooms I really hope they make a go of it as its great to see such enthusiasm.
