This is a lovely place to stop on your way to Peggy's Cove. It overlooks a lovely bay, with plenty of colourful chairs and picnic tables, and offers up some of the thickest sandwiches you can imagine. They smoke their own Montreal smoked meat, roast fresh turkeys for the clubhouse sandwich, and grind their own beef for their angus burgers and cabbage rolls. The baking is amazing - one of the best apple pies we've ever had, and the sweet potato bread is great toasted with butter.
The only downside is that they close for a few months in the winter, so locals go through withdrawal during the cold, snowy months.
Great spot, fantastic staff and owners. :)
