Although we booked on short notice, we had a lovely welcome from Jenny and Brian. She had even stocked up with groceries for us (free of charge). The annex is a quiet, warm and comfortable cottage, with a good TV (you may want to bring your own DVDs, because there aren't many there). Good bathroom facilities, including a good handrail over the bath for those who need it. A very comfortable king sized bed, well equipped kitchen and excellent WiFi. There is also a conservatory and outside seating area where a variety of birds using the bird feeder. Jenny was most the best hostess we've ever had - she even gave us a late checkout! We have no hesitation in recommending this place to anybody, and we will definitely be returning ourselves.
My partner and I wanted somewhere to back able to get away from the world and relax for a week and we couldn't have chosen better.
It has everything you need to be self sufficient for a week or two and get some peace and quiet with its own little suntrap / courtyard garden. It's also only 15 minutes from Bury if you fancy a day or night out.
We had a great time and would heartily recommend the place.
Both Jenny and Brian are charming people and so welcoming, they have put a tremendous amount of thought into The Annexe to make our stay homely and comfortable as possible. There was a basket of goodies waiting for us in the kitchen, and most of all milk in the fridge for that welcome cuppa after a journey. How thoughtful of Jenny.
The Annexe is spotless and the decor is delightful and homely . We did so enjoy having breakfast in the conservatory, while watching the birds.
So glad to have found a gem like this. Just hope it is available next time we need somewhere in this area.
Best wishes to you both.
The Annexe is a cosy comfy spacious and quiet unit on the edge of a pretty Suffolk village, yet close to the A14 for easy access to the rest of the county and beyond.
The friendly owners live next door, very helpful but never intrusive. Jenny very thoughtfully left a generous starter pack of goodies - a really nice touch.
Woolpit otherwise has ample options for eating, drinking and provisions.
A real gem of a find.
Couldn't have asked for a more helpful and warm welcome for a very comfortable well equipped stay. In a very good place to explore all over interesting and beautiful Suffolk. Highly recommend this to anyone.
When you first go in you are impressed with the interior with an adequate bedroom to the right and bathroom at the end of the entrance hall. Turning left you find yourself in a well kitted out, spacious kitchen with every gadget you could possibly need. Jenny had thoughtfully left enough goodies to get us by for a while before we got to the shops which was a kind touch. Through the kitchen was a comfortable lounge with two settees, one being a put-you-up, and a large dining table with four chairs. A coffee table, large television, dvd player and a pufee to put your feet up on after a day visiting the area adds to the comforts in this room. And there's more!
From the lounge you enter a conservatory with a glass table and chairs and a settee. This area we found was ideal for having breakfast but .... if you like having your meals outside when the weather is nice, through the patio is a lovely maintenance free garden with a gravelled area and a decked area with a patio table and chairs. There is also a bar-b-que to use if you so wish.
All in all everything you need for a home from home holiday experience.
