“Perfect, perfect, perfect!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 September 2013

This was the final hotel of our tour and I felt we had kept the best until last, The hotel is hidden up a winding gravel road which gives you fantastic views over the Fjord. Storfjord hotel opened in 2007 and the latest block was only opened in April 13 , it was built using traditonal materials and style and the attention to detail is perfect. The clean modern interiors of the bedrooms , with four poster beds that are not only beautiful but really comfortable, and the smell of pine are devine. The evening meal was delicious and well cooked, the staff were friendly and professional. The breakfast is a buffet plentiful which a huge range of hot and cold dishes and an amazing coffee machine. I would have stayed for months if I could.

Room Tip: Everyroom is good

We were very pleased to see this hotel when we arrived, the surrounding and the view from the hotel, overlooking the fjord was amazing, the food was excellent. We got a tour around the hotel to see the different suites……very nice….and the staff was very friendly…

Room Tip: We had a junior suite

Storfjord hotel is a luxury boutique hotel not so far from Alesund. The wooden cog-built houses are wonderful and each log of the main building is a masterpiece. This hotel in the upscale ski resorts of France or Switzerland and you pay twice or three times the price. Staff was extremely friendly and dinner, made by a chef coming from Poland but who worked already in some renowned restaurants, was simply star michelin every evening. His wife was serving at the table and she helped us choosing some of the best wines we have drunk in a while. Simply brilliant.

There is free wifi, but very bad connection in the rooms. A must place to stay when you visit Norway!

We arrived to the Storfjord after traveling 9 hours. Exhausted and cold we entered on of the most beautiful hotels we have ever seen- and we travel!. The hotel was constructed with tree logs, every space inviting and warm,it's impeccably clean and except for a daily walk we just rested and read books. This hotel is special not only because of its surroundings that are amazing but best of all were the people who work at the hotel-they were warm, helpful and interesting making our stay so special. we took hikes in the area and enjoyed coming back to what felt home.
we would be back in a second.

We arrived late to find Ruth, the manager, waiting for us to arrive. She was super nice!! Showed us around, and then to the dining room where the chefs were waiting to make us our (gourmet!) dinner!! Food throughout stay was excellent, as was all the help! Very, very pleasant and beautiful property overlooking a fjord. Room was excellent! Nice deck also.
Top notch place w/ top notch people! Highly recommend this property!!

Room Tip: Had a room w/ view of the fjord off the deck!

Location is beautiful, warm helpful and friendly staff.

Room was spacious and comfortable and so was the bathroom.

Beautiful views from the room.

Breakfast is ok (more fresh fruits and vegetables are recommended)

Dinner was excellent (we had two) and a friendly American chef prepared it per our request.

Highly Recommended.

This place is out if this world, where can I start, amazing setting, with a beautiful forest in a back and the lake/fjord in the front. I have to say that the best weather also helped.
We had a junior suite, which was large, authentic, charming and romantic. It had a queen size baldaquin bed, with amazing quality linen and down comforter. The room also had a large sofa, cute Scandinavian furniture and tasteful decoration. We enjoyed complimentary expresso in our room on our balcony. Nice bathroom with bath, which I requested (my fiancé likes showers and wasn't so practical), I loved my bath my bathrobe and sleepers. Also the amenities products were exellent.
The staff was so good in taking care of us, 2 dinners were amazing, and the waiter even set up the fireplace for us to relax in main living room for an after dinner drink.
The breakfast was beautifully set, with everything you could wish for, from smoked salmon, egg and bacon, cheese, fruits, and much much more...
The chef was excellent, and eager to please us, he even walked us to the lake to set us up with a boat rental and fishing gear. The next day he gave us a map of some trails for us to go on a hike in the forest around the hotel.
We have stayed in beautiful places but I have to say that it's the only time I wish this was my place. The place is quiet and peaceful.
I definitively suggest to reserve in main building with lake view.
I printed the map with google map and its was easy to find.
