We had an amazing week here. Martinus and Astrid provided us with everything you could possibly dream you'd need. We had bikes, kayaks, motor boat rowing boat, barbeques, fishing equipment and even wellies in the right sizes!! Beautiful new kitchen and seperate laundry facilities. Amazing wooden structure that kept warm and cozy with underfloor heating.
We visited Trollstiggen and the Atlantic road, we went fishing on the fjord(and caught mackerel, cod and got laughed at by the salmon). Martinus wrote some sets of directions for mountain walks especially for us which gave us accesss to places we would never have visited otherwise, and made it so that we could watch the olympics by ordering extra t.v channels. The local shop is well stocked and we also found the supermarkets in Vestnes to be useful but if you want wine or spirits stock up in the dutyfree on your way through the airport.
Two teenage boys can be hard to drag away from computers but they spent this week outside kayaking, walking and cycling around the fjord. Our youngest-who had recently come back from a trek in the himalayas-found the walking interesting and challenging.
We all enjoyed using the spa bath after our long walks if we had got a little chilled
Martinus and Astrid were lovely hosts and we would certainly return. One slight problem we encountered was with the space in the upper level bedroom as there is very little headroom and our boys are both well over 6 feet so couldnt easily access the beds but we managed well enough as everything else was perfect

We have had a superb week staying in this lovely house at Tresfjord . Our hosts Martinus and Astrid were utterly charming . Full interesting and helpful local information and Norwegian cultural history . Always happy to help but equally respectful of our privacy as a family . One could not ask for lovelier , kinder onsite owners. The house is lovely , sympathetically built with all modern requirements- the bathrooms in particular are excellent for a rental property . The 'extras' that Martinus and Astrid provide are incredible . We used their bikes, their kayaks, their rowing boat , the motor boat , and their fishing gear - all included in the rent . On our last night we asked to use a barbeque we had seen in the garage and came back from a cycle to find a barbeque , a table , chairs , coal and an amazing fire pit all set up for us. So kind - we can safely say that in 25 years of holiday rentals they have been without a doubt the best hosts . If you love the outdoors you will love this place .

We just came back from a one-week stay at this wonderful fjord-side house and can totally testify all the great reviews from below. The surroundings are absolutely fantastic with the gorgeous mountains and calm fjord in the backdrop and the huge front lawn at the doorstep. The house is brand new with airy rooms and an open kitchen that comes with all the necessary utensils that are cleanly available for use. The best part about the property is that very productive boathouse and the water right in front of it as most have also pointed out the fish you can catch there. We rowed a boat to about 20 to 30 meters off the coast, and that's all we needed to go to find water deep enough and fish good enough.

The house is also well located with many diverse points of interest nearby. We usually drove no more than 2 hours for day excursions, and after having stayed one week there we still have quite a lot of places that we have to save for the next trip back there.

Of course, as mentioned in most other reviews, the warmth from the very sweet owner couple is the most impressive and can hardly be beat. We were given tons of information on planning this trip through some extremely detailed e-mails that usually turned around within 24 hours. When we finally arrived there at the house we felt meeting Astrid and Martinus like our old friends.

“Eldhuset Lovikneset - best part of our journey in Norway”
Reviewed 8 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We stayed in the house in September 2014 with small 2-year kid. The house is beautiful and tastefully arranged, clean, cosy, elegant, quiet – you will find there everything you need to replace your home - and much more….

But the most delightful part of our stay was the contact with the owners of the house… we have visited quite a lot of places everywhere in the world but there was nothing to match warm welcome and care we receive here, in Eldhuset Lovikneset. We arrived very late in the evening (23.00) but they were still waiting for us, the fire flaring in the fireplace and small wooden horse awaiting for our son. We stayed just a few days but we really did feel like being part of the “family”.
There are sheep to cheer you up, wonderful fishing just outside the door, mountains for hiking, Trollwegen and Geirangerfjorf nearby… I catch a beautiful Cod fish just after 10 minutes of fishing! (And I am really a neophyte, I was fishing for the first time in my life in Norway).
Usually I do not write such enthusiastic reviews but this place is really exceptional. In short, it is a place where we would like to return even if it is more than 2000 km away from our home-country.

“Every moment worth sharing”
Reviewed 28 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We have spent one week of our holidays at Eldhuset. The house is just perfect and actually is much more beautiful than the pictures in the description may reflect. Its spacious, very clean and cozy. There is a large living room with comfortable kitchen and wonderful views on the fjord. two bathrooms are really spacious and equipped by the high standards. Beds are comfortable. The convenience store is just 1 minute drive from the house, while all major attractions of the area are easily reachable by car. We also enjoyed hiking in the area and spending time by the waterfalls where we had organized picnics.
The beauty of the nature in the area and the views from the house to the fjord and mountains are just stunning.
Some meters down the hill, just 1 minute walk from the house, there is a pier that belongs to the house - we have spent hours and hours there having pickings, watching birds, fishing, saying "good night" to the sun. We also enjoyed the boat that we could use at any time we wanted to spend some time on the water.
Overall - there is nothing more we could expect.
But most importantly, we have met Martinus and Astrid who appeared to be most friendly and welcoming hosts we have ever met - and we do travel a lot and meet many of them. Martinus was so kind helping us in our trip planning, provided us with all possible advises on where to go, what to see and experience. I can assure you, we would have missed majority of the things we have experienced when traveling if we would not be advised by Martinus and Astrid. And they both cared so much how are we doing, is there anything we need, how was our fishing or traveling experience of that day and so on. Martinus even made a fishing tool for my daughter with his own hands! so that she would enjoy fishing with us in the boat. i could also use his fishing equipment with no problem, and that was convenient as we traveled by plane with no possibilities to bring own rods.
Astrid and Martinus, thank you once again for the time spent at your place, it was one of the best holidays ever for me and my family. I will definitely recommend you to my friends.
