Wedding breakfast was really good, and food at the evening reception was excellent too. The Orangery was a lovely setting and guests could spill out onto a lovely patio.
Staff were helpful and efficient.

Enjoyable food and plenty to eat. Couldn't eat all my fish and chips . It was hanging off the plate sides! If having a pudding go for lemon - a nice bit of theatre!

We attended a wedding at this venue last week and the breakfast was in the adjacent room. We enjoyed fantastic food in a comfortable environment with good service.
The newly weds had chosen pate, lamb cutlets and fudge brownies for the event. These were all prepared to a very high standard, the lamb in particular was fantastic and cooked just right. It made the event even more memorable for the excellent food.

In the evening, a buffet supper was provided for guests and this was again very good. The pork pie in particular was most enjoyable!

Yesterday - a late wedding, 4.30 p.m. with a drinks/canape reception followed by an evening buffet. The food was good and plentiful. The service took place in the Orangery which was bright and pleasant but not too big. The layout meant that the food was served in an adjacent room, not the reception room, which was ideal and this room later housed the "photo booth". This was a non-traditional wedding and was very relaxed and informal and the Red Lion was ideal.
Two negatives - the ladies toilets were somewhat "unfragrant" - not just later on in the evening but from our arrival mid afternoon. Also, the bistro was still open to the public but there was no obvious separate entrance so everyone enters via what appears to be the main entrance, the large porch, and then through the wedding reception room towards the bar and bistro area - NOT ideal.

Service was impecable and the food was out of this world. We would travel the 2.5 hours from home just to eat there again!
