“Great Valentines Getaway!”
Reviewed 15 February 2012

As my partner and i have booked our wedding at The Peak Edge hotel for next September, we took advantage of the Valentines offer for a night stay at the hotel with a 4 course meal in the Bistro. Well what can i say we were both totally blown away when we walked in the room.
A lot of attention to detail had been put in and we were presented with a bottle of champagne with chocolate truffles, a very pretty Swan towel display and a single red rose.
Throughout our stay the staff were very friendly and always there to help where ever they can, especially the two hotel receptionists. I believe on arrival it was Laura who is always a pleasure to deal with and nothing is too much bother for her.
The 4 course Meal in the Bistro was fantastic, for starters we had the Duck and for main a Chateaubriand which i have to say were both cooked to perfection and tasted great.
The whole stay was brilliant and excellent value for money, we both really enjoyed ourselves.
We are so excited for our wedding next September now!

my partner and myself have just returned from a night away here and all I can say is AMAZING nothing is too much trouble, we eat next door and the food was outstanding, there is a huge wine selection and we cant fault the food one bit, this morning after the best sleep I have had we both had smoked salmon scrambled eggs which was divine, we stayed in room 208 and it was perfect, I honestly can not fault the hotel or bistro it was perfect and will without a doubt will be returning Thank you too all staff x

If you want a modern well designed hotel with superb rooms then look no further. Everything about the place oozes quality. Great informal check in. Nice personalised welcome pack, lovely comfy beds with mattress topper and luxury duvet.
Detail like non misting mirrors and under floor heating in bathroom are great touches.
We stayed on only day this year of bad snow so could not really appreciate the grounds but we overlooked a nice lake and had good views due to the hotel's location.

Hotel in middle of no where really but gastro pub the red lion is attached to the hotel (all owned by the same people). Had food there. Nice food but quite limited menu and pretty pricey, but ambience (like open fire and solid wood tables) made it a nice dining experience.
Overall would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to stay right next to peak district. This is best hotel I have stayed in for a while. Go there, you won't be let down!!!

I stayed as part of a business trip for one night. The room was amazing, bathroom was huge with shower and sperate bath. The service on the reception was outstanding. I also ate in the Red Lion Bistro (attached to the hotel) and the food was possibly the best I've had. I would DEFINITELY recommend and return to this hotel whether for a business trip or not.

We have previously travelled to the Bistro (Red Lion) for lunch and always been very impressed. When we were looking for somewhere for New Year's Eve we decided to try the Peak Edge Hotel. From our arrival in the afternoon to be greeted by a very welcoming receptionist to our departure next morning everything was excellent. The extra touch of a Christmas tree in all rooms was a lovely idea. We went to the Champagne and canopies reception and again we were not disappointed. The Champagne kept coming as did the canopies...at this rate we were worried that we would be too full to eat dinner. But who could resist the wonderful food which was presented. The live group were very good adding to a truly great evening. Breakfast again didn't let the hotel down.. The only problem was that we were still full from the banquet. We will return as we want to try the fish in the bistro and the Red lion is definitely on our list for another trip out from South Leicestershire for lunch.

My Partner and I have just got back this morning from a long weekend celebrating our anniversary at the Peak Edge Hotel and we did not want to come home! It was absolutely amazing, from the room (we had a feature room overlooking the lake) which had everything we needed, including an amazing rain shower and double bath, to the staff who were attentive and friendly, to the food which at both breakfast and dinner was outstanding! Thank you to Victoria in the Events Department of the Hotel who booked some memorable days for us; horse riding, fly fishing and wine tasting in the Bistro. This hotel is set in stunning surroundings and is lovely and peaceful, we will definitely be returning!!

Room Tip: A feature room has a Juliette Balcony that overlooks the lake.
