we came here in 2013 as the guest of our friend who was celebrating his 60th birthday. The room was very good. a kingsize bed great bathroom and great views over the Derbyshire countryside. In the evening we had a meal in the restaurant the size of the party was 14 perhaps this was the reason while the service was rather slow , I had the soup as a starter arrived in a large bowl with a tiny well in the centre with a small amont of soup and no bread after asking a tiny portion of bread arrived. Main course was nice didnt have a sweet as it was too expensive.all in all nothing more than a average meal off a very limited menu im glad Iwas not paying

We attended my daughter and new son in laws wedding on Bank Holiday Monday, 25th August
We cannot thank Peak Edge enough. Everything was just perfect from the wedding ceremony, the wedding reception and the evening celebration Hog Roast and Disco.
Although I didn't stay the night before the wedding it was unanimously agreed by all those who did stay that the rooms were really good.
The room used for the wedding ceremony was beautifully set out and the standard was excelled for the reception. Although the weather was dreadful, (rain and thick fog) the occasion compensated for everything.
We cannot thank the staff enough. Service was really efficient and friendly. The food was lovely too, and helpings were very ample. The food began with some lovely canapés and this was followed after photographs by the reception. We began with smoked salmon and asparagus, followed by a champagne sorbet. The main course of beef Wellington was just gorgeous and the Creme Brûlée was a perfect finish. The evening 'do' consisted of a hog roast with all the extras, generous amounts again.
Peak Edge was just a brilliant venue and I cannot praise it highly enough. Thank you to everyone for contributing to a wonderful occasion.

We stayed for one evening on the way home from Northumberland, reception was very good, room and bathroom very good, lovely country views. The Red Lion's menu was very limited however and disappointing considering its award winning chef's.

Room Tip: 206 was very well appointed.

Spent the weekend here as proud father of the bride! Excellent venue, rooms very good, staff wonderful couldn't be more helpful. A special mention for Carly our wedding co-ordinator. Food was very good, which can be difficult for large numbers (90). There is a small bistro restaurant, in what used to be the Red Lion, good modern take on food. All rooms modern and configurations to meet most needs. Plenty of parking and grounds excellent for short walks and photographs.

Its the staff that make it though they were very patient, helpful and so apologetic as the fire alarm went off at 07.00 the morning after, which was pretty funny and ensured we well all up for breakfast.

Room Tip: We were in the Harrogate suite, but all the guests were very impressed with all the rooms.

I went to a wedding party here and the service provided for people not eating meat was appalling. I am used to having to wait for food or it be a bit unimaginative but for a hotel reputed to be "gourmet" the offering was awful - like going back 30 years. One example being nothing on a buffet except cheese. (And no bread/crackers to go). So to conclude if you are Veggie or with someone who doesn't eat meat, eat elsewhere.
