Having heard repeated rave reviews from friends of this place. I was happy to give it a try when a colleague suggested it.
Best decision I have made all week.
The ambiance is old world and works really well. The service is friendly, professional yet totally relaxed. It feels like a restaurant that has been around for decades and is relaxed about it.
Supposedly the oldest restaurant in Cape Town, no wonder it has survived so long. The menu is varied but not not complicated. It is primarily known for its steaks, but there is an option for everyone's taste, including fish etc.
The food was beautifully cooked and the wine perfectly matched. Service was quick and always with a smile.
If you are visiting Cape Town, makes sure you visit this restaurant. If you are not nearby, there are other Hussar Grills now open across the area, all faithfully and sympathetically replicated to match the original site decor.
This restaurant will please the vast majority of diners, so give it a try, you will love it.
