“Highlight of our trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2013

Recently took a group from Minnesota to visit Khayelitsha to get a glimpse of township life and be inspired by the potential of the youth. Loyiso is a great guide who clearly is committed to his community and loves sharing his community with others. The Africa Jam youth we met at the center were talented, welcoming and gave us all hope for a bright future. If you are going to Cape Town, don't miss out on this unique way to touch, feel and hear the vibrant sounds and colors of Khayelitsha and meet the amazing people of the beautiful Mother City.

“Tour of Discovery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 November 2012

Loyoso was an informed, professional and thoughtful host. The tour of Khayelitsha was full of wonder for me & my family (two children). We visited an NGO, schools, oriented ourselves with a panoramic view and enjoyed the food and music which left us with strong memories.

For anyoneone considering a visit to Cape Town, this tour is a must. Well organized, personalized, informative and, best of all, fun. Not visiting a township is like visiting the gift shop without a walk through the museum. So reward yourself with a walk through the gallery of sights, sounds, tastes and lasting impressions of Khayelitsha with Ubuntu.

“An exciting day full of experiences, great people and inspiration”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 October 2012

A good friend recommended the township tour in Khayelitsha with Loyiso, so when we arrived in Capetown we called Loyiso on our first day and arranged to meet two days later.

We were a bit excited - two girls going to a huge township with their rental car... But Loyiso picked us up in Capetown waterfront, so it was no problem at all to find our way to and through Khayelitsha. The car was parked safely in front of the house of Loyisos family and then the township tour started. The equipment was in a very good condition, brandnew mountainbikes and helmets.
We cycled through Khayelitsha for several hours, met friends and neighbours of Loyiso, had lunch in a typical snack stall and tasted self made Khayelitshan beer.
It was a wonderful day with Loyiso and two of his friends who accompanied our tour. We felt safe and comfortable all the time and met many warm and friendly people.
It was an experience which broadens ones horizon. The tour is a perfect way to experience culture, community and lifestyle of a non touristic part of Capetown.

“Great experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 October 2012

We went to Khayelitsha by our own car and Loyiso picked us up at the exit. But there is also a possibility of a pick-up service by Loyiso from city center of Capetown.

We made a 1 ½ hour bike-tour through Khayelitsha and met a lot of nice people living in the township. The bikes are fully functional and there is also the possibility to wear helmets. We were allowed to visit the kindergarden, ate at a typical food bank and met some friends from Loyiso at their houses. And the best experience was to see “My Africa Jam”: adorable boys and girls dancing and singing; it was fantastic to attend the daily practice.

It was a great day and we felt save all the time. Use this opportunity to see the other side of the touristic life in Capetown and met extraordinary people making grand things.

“Once in a LIFETIME EXPERIENCE!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 October 2012

I met Loyiso in September 2011 and went on a Tour with him in his community.

Brand-new red mountain bikes, brand-new helmets make the trip very safe and easy.
The tour brought us to different sites of Khayelitsha. We met different people / friends of Loyiso.
I got a very good understanding how Khayelitsha works and how normal life in a township looks like.
We met a lot of real, authentic and open hearted people! And listing to Loyisos personal story is mind blowing. I saw a lot beautiful things on my Africa trip - but this day with Loyiso will stick in my mind and heart forever.
His idea of offering these tours as an exchange platform between visitors and Khayelitsha residents is an amazing idea!
THANK YOU LOYISO for an amazing time!
Keep up the good work and i will be back!
