Froslev Kro is one of the typical small inns that are spread throughout Denmark. Run by a family and with traditions older than the Dannebrog. A Kro is NOT a four or five star hotel. Being that would disqualify it, remove the directness and the charm that almost always is present in a real Kro.
We booked over internet and everything worked as planned when we arrived. We had chosen the low-cost alternative with a shared bath-room. No probs, we were off-season and had the bath-room for ourselves during the stay.
The menu was typical. We looked for Stegt flaesk med persiljesauce (a national treasure) but settled for Hakkeboef with onion, pickled cucumber and fresh potatoes. It was all very good, but the portions were too large for our senior status. The Fugelsang beer was just right.
One little thing that the landlord had missed is that the electrical installation could be more in line with Code. We talked about it and there will be some changes. Maintenance could, on the whole, be better. We had to grease the door hinges with soap to stop the loud squealing when visiting the bath-room. Minor details that would be irritating in a large hotel, but seem to add to the charm of a Kro. We will be back whenever we happen to be in that neck of the woods.

Room Tip: The restaurant serves giant portions. If you are on a tight budget, try to share with your partner. Buy some extra beers for the money!

If you have no other option this will do. It has non of the old Danish charm you would expect but the sheets and towels where clean. Everything else was very basic and could do with a bit of an update.
