We had a most enjoyable Carvery lunch on Wednesday. The meat, vegetables -proper roast potatoes, not boiled potatoes cooked like chips!- and HUGE Yorkshire puddings were delicious. As Senior Citizens, we were able to have the special SC set menu ( only available on Wednesdays) which was really reasonable. The service was good and the waiters most pleasant. The refurbishment has made a visit to The Tree a pleasant experience as the building gives a very relaxed atmosphere. I liked the idea of different style of tables and chairs and the garden area looks the ideal setting for a celebration or just a quiet drink.

As a late decision we decided to take an early Sunday evening meal and knowing the tree offered 'Sunday Roasts' we arrived just after 6.00 pm and were politely greeted and shown to a table despite not having pre-booked

The Service was excellent and friendly and the choice at the Carvery was good and the beef deliciously rare

Overall the experience was worth the 14 mile round trip

Had the worst rib-eye I ever had in my live.
First of all was not rear as I've ordered and I've sent it back and when the second one arrived the meat it self was horrible.
My friend ordered the duck salad as a main in 15 min. The waitress arrived and said that they only had duck for starter portion, however when the starter portion arrived the duck was si hard you couldn't cut it with knife!!!When my fiend complaint another waitress came and tried to convince him that the duck was crispy :))))).
Not going back ever again!!

We were due to go elsewhere with friends for Sunday lunch but were unable to book on a Sunday between 12&2.30. However here at The Tree we could. We arrived a few minutes early and they were setting our table. We ordered drinks and then were seated near to a door looking onto the garden. All the staff were friendly and attentive. We all opted for the carvery. The chef serving was a delight with a great sense of humour. Food was Fab. We even had room for pudding, waffles and ice cream!!
This was our first visit. And it definitely won't be our last. I would recommend to family and friends!!

Was very grateful to find this place on a sunny Saturday afternoon when looking for somewhere to feed the family at 5.30pm. Having been disappointed by 2 other local hostelries who clearly were fed up with the extra business a bit of sunshine had induced and basically turned us away, The Tree was like a welcome oasis.
Decent selection of draught lagers and ales, good wine list. Predictable range of good quality pub food at reasonable prices, and separate children's menu. Staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive.
Good sized garden with separate play area for kids with a wooden castle to climb around and slide, in relative safety. Plenty of seating both inside, in the garden and terrace with an awning for predictable English summer weather.
