We went as a surprise with our two granddaughters aged 3 and 5 who are mad on Lego especially Lego Ninjago (all new to me). We got there at 12 but were booked in for 12.30 but as there was no queue we were allowed to go straight in. You go straight into a photo taking seat where you sit on the bench and they ask you to do silly things whilst they take your picture. As you are sat against a plain background you don't know what the photos are like until you pick them up later. First you go to the Lego factory and Professor Brick tells you how things are made. then its onto the first ride where you use laser shooters to kill the bad guys and save the princess. It was a good ride but the queues were long and there was a separate queue for people who had tickets to say they were disabled and all their families. They seemed to get priority and made the wait even longer. I have nothing against a disabled person and say a carer getting on first but some people had up to 6 other people with them. This was better organised at the second ride where they let a mixture from each side in. The 4D cinema was a real hit with our grandchildren trying to catch all the things that were coming towards them. The biggest hit was the Lego Ninjago city adventure which is just really just a big play area with slides ball pools climbing things ect but they loved it.. Food wise there is a café but the staff were slow which led to longer queues they had lunchboxes for the kids where they could choose what they wanted and something for the grown ups. We took our own which you are welcome to do as one of our grandchildren is dairy free. Overall the kids loved it. It was a bit expensive especially for adults who get to go on 2 rides and the 4D cinema if they want to the rest of the time you are a spare part as they are busy. Staff were ok some looked a bit bored but the staff on the photo desk were really good. They let us take another photo as one of our grandchildren was shy when she first went in and when it didn't work they persevered until it did. Best advise book on line and you save money. Photos were £15 for 3.

Hi lyndablyth,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester, I am so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your visit with us. Our Ninjago City Play Area is brand new for this year, and is designed so that adults can play and enjoy it too! The 4D Cinema is also one of my favourites, I do hope that you were able to see both of our films showing.

Thank you for your comments regarding our ride access pass and the service within the Coffee Shop, I will pass your comments on to the relevant departments.

Once again thank you for your review, and we do hope to see you again soon.

Kind regards,
Sarah - Operations Manager

I tried to pre-book tickets for a family of 5 using the mcd's happy meal voucher from all packs at from the start of the year. 50% off is not to be sniffed at but was unable to use the code from the voucher online. Maybe my fault but I could not get it to work so we just had to turn up on the day. Having been before in Scottish school holidays we had the place to our own family it was great so this time we agreed that we would be at the front door for 9.45am opening information at 10. We were maybe the 10th family in the queue for non pre booked tickets. The night before I could have pre-booked for 10.15am for faster access but at full price. However we eventually got server at 10:22 and were told it was full!!!! And we had to come back at 12:45 (where we had to queue again). We however got tickets for the sealife centre next door at the same time so went there at 10:35 to 12:30. Total price for 2 adults, 2 paying children and a 2 year old for two attractions was £50. £5 per person per attraction on average. Should have been £100. So if you want to use your happy meal voucher to save some.money you will have to wait for a later access time. Even though we spent £12 on lanyards and £70 on Lego!

Packed inside, hot, 30 mins plus queues for each ride but fun enough. Kids loved it. But shame there is two queues at entrance. One if you can afford o pay top price and one if you can't pay top price as you have a voucher or you have forgot to pre book.

The kids loved it but we would never return in the English school holidays. Too busy.

ALWAYS LOOK.OUT FOR A VOUCHER! 50% OFF.

And first aid were required for my daughter's head injury. The guy was great from.legoland. well done.

Aldis can server 100 customers in 10 mins, Legoland can serve 10 in 22 mins! That's maybe a bit unfair. But it should have been a lot quicker with lots of kids in line.

Hi,

Good to hear you made use of a promotional voucher, however some of these vouchers cannot be accepted online, and therefore do need to be redeemed on the door. In regards to the timed-entry, we do have to do this so that the attraction doesn't get too busy, which is mainly for health and safety reasons, as well as the guest experience - as being overcrowded isn't pleasant for anybody. It's good to hear you visited our sister-attraction, the SeaLife Centre, I do hope you had a great day there!

I hope this helps a little, if you wish discuss this further, get in touch via email at contactus@legolanddiscoverycentre.co.uk.

Kind Regards,

Adam

Visited on a Friday afternoon. Pre booked online using the adults go free vouchers £15 for 1adult and 1child. No queues to get in which was a bonus. You go through a factory tour into the main part of the centre. My son was 9 and he was in my opinion too big for it. Alot of queues inside for rides and to play with certain parts of the lego. He did have fun but not somewhere he cud stay for longer than2 hours

Hi,

Thanks for leaving a review! I'm really happy to hear you had such a fun-filled day at our attraction. Your ticket is an all-day ticket, so if you were to visit in the future you can come in and out as much as you like during the day. I'm sorry to hear there was a little bit of queuing for some of the areas inside the attractions, although the summer holidays can be a little busier than usual.

We do hope to see you again soon,

Kind regards,

Adam

I bought and paid online for my 2 grandchildren and myself, with a timed entry. We arrived a bit early but were told to carry on in. We queued for 40 minutes just to get to one of only 2 registers. I don't know why I couldn't zapp my prepaid barcode on a terminal and enter. The hard sell for extras started at the register and continued to the entry corridor via a photo opportunity. That was the 2nd queue. We didn't want a photo, but still had to stay behind the barrier and queue with people who did. Then the 3rd queue, about 20 minutes, for a compulsory ride with laser guns, full of shooting, before we eventually entered the centre. There seemed to be no way to bypass this ride, we were ushered into line. The final central area was extremely noisy, airless, dark and very small for the number of people present. The cafe offering was poor, and expensive, but of course, you wouldn't want to go through that entry process again, to get better value and quality in the Trafford Centre. The only redeeming feature of the whole offering was the 4D cinema, but that was only 12 minutes long.
Adults cost more than children here, and no senior discounts, even though the place was full of grandparents and senior carers in the school holidays. It is so expensive for a very stressful experience.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience visiting LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, however summer holidays is our busiest period. Even with pre-purchased tickets we still need to validate your tickets, which is why you needed to go to our admissions desk.

In regards to having a photo taken, this is optional, and you are more than welcome to decline having a photo taken. Although we do need to stagger the amount of guests going into the attraction for health and safety reasons. Just for future reference too - the Kingdom Quest ride (the one with the laser shooting), is not compulsory, and you are more than welcome to avoid this if you desired.

I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed the 4D cinema, I hope you and your family didn't get too wet!

If you do wish to return in the future, keep an eye out for promotional vouchers on cereal boxes, as this can save you some money. Or, pre-book 24 hours in advance and there are cheaper tickets available.

I hope this helps a little, if you wish discuss this further, get in touch via email at contactus@legolanddiscoverycentre.co.uk.

Kind Regards,

Adam

Visited with my little girl and her friend, wasn't a planned visit as changed our plans due to the weather so didn't benefit from the online booking discount. I find it an expensive place to go and cannot understand why it costs more for adults when it is a children's attraction. We bought the combined ticket with the sea life centre so it does work out slightly cheaper.
Venue was over crowded and queues were ridiculous. Felt like they were just packing as many people in as possible.
Staff are very pleasant and attentive

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you didn't have a good time at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre or SeaLife, however we have just had one of our busiest times of year - as the summer holidays can be pretty busy. If you do return in the future, we do always advise to pre-book online (which gives you a timed entry, plus cheaper tickets if booked 24 hours in advance).

We try our very best to stagger out the amount of guests visiting the attraction, by providing timed-entry to all of our visitors, which we believe helps to reduce crowds gathering in the centre. If you do wish to come in a quieter period, during term time is the best.

I hope this helps, however if you do want to discuss this any further, get in touch via email at contactus@legolanddiscoverycentre.co.uk.

Regards,

Adam
