Our niece arranged her wedding reception at this Manor house, and we decided therefore
to book a three night stay. French weddings quite often continue through to lunch the following day, and to have a room en site was perfect. The Manor house is situated in the middle of a forest, and so very quiet. Our room was very comfortable with very good quality furnishings, TV and wifi. The bathroom was modern and spotlessly clean. There is a swimming pool in the garden which is surrounded by a forest of trees. Coffee or tea were served in the breakfast room each morning together croissants and bread all freshly baked that same morning. A true delight.
Close by is the beautiful and historic town of Aubigny sur Nere which boasts of a castle in the middle of the town and historically is connected to The Stuarts of Scotland. We just happened to be there during the annual Scottish festival and were amazed to see The Scots and French having such a great time together.
The Manor is obviously a great place for a wedding party, and also for those who enjoy forest walks, fishing with lots of peace and quiet.
If our future travels bring us back to the Berry region of France we would definitely return to the Manoir de BellevueMore
