I was invited by a friend to celebrate his wife's birthday and I was in for a surprise... I had never heard of this restaurant before and I did not know what to expect. We took the 55 euro St. Valentine menu with the assorted wines (30 euro) and I was blown away.
Everything that was served, from the first amuse-bouche to the last biscuit with the coffee, was of an exceptional quality. The chef knows what he's doing, and the service was excellent.
I am confident that this restaurant will have a Michelin star in the near future.
I will definitely be back.

From the outside it looks like a simple restaurant in a not so interesting building, from the inside it's a complete different story, with an elegant and modern interior. Although it looks a bit crammed in there, there is actually enough privacy between the tables so you can enjoy a quiet diner.

This restaurant has been on my to-do list for several years now, and I finally had the opportunity to go there, the expectations that had been accumulating over this period were even met and surpassed without any difficulty. The food is original and of an outstanding level, and in touch with the season and terroir. A simple onion soup blew my tasting pallet completely upside down, and it continued the all night long. I am not going to run through the entire meal I ate, but at the end the feeling was blissful from the food and a bit tipsy from the wine, as they don't stop serving !

This is a new favorite of mine, and has obtained a nice place in my little black book of restaurants to revisit with friends and family.

A longtime resident of Leuven took me here for a business lunch. I liked it so much that I returned a few weeks later with my “eating club”. Apparently this restaurant has been a work in progress transforming a fermette into a restaurant. My friend tells me that they originally stopped in years ago to deal with their hungry children only expecting steak and frites, but instead found remarkable food. While the food was always worth a return visit, they felt the interior needed some work. Now it appears that the interior has caught up with the food.

The offerings of the kitchen aren’t extensive, so it looks like the chef focuses on doing a small number of dishes well. If going a la carte there are six starters and six main plats. Two or three menus are offered depending on which day you are there. A daily lunch special for 25 Euros, a seasonal menu for 38 euros (plus 22 for wine) and a St. Valentine menu for 55 plus 30 for wine. We had the seasonal menu for both visits.

We found the food to be exceptional. The amuse bouche was as good as any place I’ve been. Tasty and creative. The starter was a long plate highlighted by stuffed sandre with an assortment of various purees, vegetables and ham. The main was roast young pork, again surrounded by vegetable items of different textures. The centerpiece of the dessert was an orange sanguine with a banana ice and pureed banana. Wines were perfect choices and poured with generosity.

The only thing I didn’t like about the meal was the banana items for the dessert. Nothing wrong with them, I just hate bananas. Also, the menus don’t appear to change very often. I would like to return, but will wait until we enter a new season.

Service was very attentive and professional by several attractive young women. The place was full both times we went, so be sure to make a reservation.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see this place get a Michelin star in the near future. If they do, go before the prices go up.
