We had been travelling around Australia and the South Island of NZ and had stayed in some wonderful locations and had been received in each place by very friendly hosts. To our surprise, a fabulous welcome awaited us at Kisamar. We arrived on a sunny day and couldn't believe the location. Kisimar is set in its own grounds which run down to and include the estuary. Clare and Pete, the hosts, were still doing some work in their wonderful garden when we arrived so it was interesting to see what they had achieved and hear what their further plans were.
They made us extremely welcome. The self-contained apartment we stayed in was superb. The fittings, fixture and furnishings were of a very high standard and quality. the bathroom was quite unique.
The views from our lounge and bedroom windows were spectacular. There was still some snow on the mountains and the sunsets were terrific.
Nelson itself was an interesting place and it was a very good location for us as we wanted to explore the area which included the Abel Tasman National Park and Golden Bay.
Clare & Pete were of enormous help to us. They had a massive amount of local knowledge both historically and generally and were kind enough to share some of the local beauty spots with us which included Rabbit Island.
