“Ideal location in the North of the South Island of NZ”
Reviewed 15 March 2009

We had been travelling around Australia and the South Island of NZ and had stayed in some wonderful locations and had been received in each place by very friendly hosts. To our surprise, a fabulous welcome awaited us at Kisamar. We arrived on a sunny day and couldn't believe the location. Kisimar is set in its own grounds which run down to and include the estuary. Clare and Pete, the hosts, were still doing some work in their wonderful garden when we arrived so it was interesting to see what they had achieved and hear what their further plans were.

They made us extremely welcome. The self-contained apartment we stayed in was superb. The fittings, fixture and furnishings were of a very high standard and quality. the bathroom was quite unique.

The views from our lounge and bedroom windows were spectacular. There was still some snow on the mountains and the sunsets were terrific.

Nelson itself was an interesting place and it was a very good location for us as we wanted to explore the area which included the Abel Tasman National Park and Golden Bay.

Clare & Pete were of enormous help to us. They had a massive amount of local knowledge both historically and generally and were kind enough to share some of the local beauty spots with us which included Rabbit Island.

Thoroughly enjoyed the journey to this accommodation as it is in such a gorgeous area. On arrival we were warmly welcomed both by Pete and Clare and the two dogs, who are absolutely adorable. By the end of our stay we felt as if we had known them all for years. They were the perfect hosts and have a great sense of humour too.
Rooms were comfortable and immaculate and beautifully decorated - in fact for me it was like being at home as we obviously have the same taste in furnishings! There are the most amazing views out of all the windows - uninterrupted views across the water to the mountains - and at night the most stunning sun sets.
Their local knowledge was comprehensive and we only had to mention something we fancied doing and if they didn't know about it personally then it was straight onto the internet - though this didn't happen often !
Overall, this part of our journey was a very happy one made more so by the hospitality we received which was never intrusive, and the amazing location - perfect to unwind and catch one's breath in this amazing country.

We had a wonderful tour of the New Zealand South Island and thought we had experienced the best of New Zealand hospitality. How wrong we were. Clare and Peter are a lovely couple who could not do enough for us. They took excellent hospitality to a new and higher dimension.

Their accommodation is out of this world. We guests had our own private annex with every comfort imaginable. The view from our bedroom and lounge was stunning across the tidal estuary of Waimea Inlet.

Bronte is ideally located, easy reach of Nelson and the airport and all the amazing surrounding scenery and sights. Clare and Peter were very knowledgeable about their country and how to get from A to B. They even provided us with an itinerary for our tour of the North Island.

We have no hesitation in recommending Kisamar to anyone who wants value for money, luxury accommodation, top rate hospitality, with value added.
