Our accommodation was arranged for us by the hosts whose party we were attending. From Marlborough Sounds and Wellington, four of us had no prior knowledge of this beautiful B&B so it was a pleasant surprise to arrive at such a peaceful and charming house. Set in secluded park-like surroundings just off the main road, there is no traffic noise and the bedrooms are very comfortable. Lis is a great host and loads of fun- very generous, giving us 2 big bags of ripe plums off her large trees to take home. We all enjoyed her breakfast - delicious stewed plums on french toast after homemade berger muesli. We were intrigued by all the references to cats - some very amusing - all around the house and the resident "Tia", an old fluffy Persian redhead was a great character. I would recommend anyone to stay here. Only 5 minutes from Mapua( a town everyone must see - it's gorgeous) and pretty much middle of the Nelson region. Thanks to Hugo who booked it for us.

Room Tip: We had the larger of the 2 rooms but would have been happy with either. Both have separate bathrooms...

Hi Sue - thanks for taking the time to write that review! We certainly enjoyed you four - you know how to have fun obviously :-) Hope you enjoyed the plums and the trip home wasn't too dreadful given the wet weather. Enjoy the sounds! Lis

What a great place to stay! We enjoyed the spacious room, the bed, the bathroom, but most of all the great hospitality of Lis and her wonderful organic breakfasts. The location is ideal for visiting Abel Tasman and Lis gave us great suggestions for various activities and dining (The Jelly Fish In Mapua is the best). If we ever visit Abel Tasman again, we would love to stay again in Cats Pjamas!

Thanks so much for taking the time to write a comment about your stay! We very much enjoyed hosting you both. Just one comment - we're not in Golden Bay even though we would love to be and send everyone there if they have the time to see it. We're about an hours drive from Golden Bay. Kind regards, Lis

Stayed hear after a long car trip from Hanmer Springs. It was a very hot day but the drive through the Murchison Pass was long but beautiful.

Arrived to a very warm welcome from Lis would runs this great B&B. We were very lucky to get in as it is the ideal location for both Nelson and AT National Park. It is about 20-30 minutes from both but set in lovely countryside. There is a beautiful view overlooking the tidal river and the garden is wonderful.

We stayed for 2 nights in Nov 2013 and the weather was very hot. Lis is very generous and an amazing cook. Her passion is organic food and her breakfasts are incredible. I can not recommend this B&B enough.

Room Tip: Truly great location, wonderful food and lovely owner.

Hi Kristina,
Thanks for taking the time to write a review for us. Glad you enjoyed your time here. I enjoyed your visit! One correction - we are on the Waimea estuary - it's ocean - not a river :-) It's still lovely and warm - perhaps hot by UK standards ha-ha. Kind regards, Lis

We were staying at this beautiful B&B for 4 nights. Lis is a great host, loving the detail. So we always had a delicious organic breakfast and divine delights in the evening:) She knows all activities in the area which are a lot. The accomodation is well located to discover Abel Tasman Park, Golden Bay, Nelson etc. We highly recommend it.

We spent 4 nights at Cat's Pjamas. Lys is an excellent host in a relaxing and comfortable environment. The stay was beyond our expectations. We were also provided with excellent information about the whereabouts. Excellent, home made breakfast with food from her own garden.

Room Tip: Both rooms are excellent
