Oman is a wonderful country with a rich heritage and culture. However this hotel, one of an international group and rated 4* was very disappointing. The food was excellent but the service dreadful. We had been competing in a world class championship sailing regatta and found that generally the hotel seemed understaffed with inadequate managerial supervision. The staff were courteous and helpful but obviously not experienced at dealing with large numbers of guests. Food when ordered from the a la carte menu was either served in the wrong order or not at all. Ordering drinks from the bar was a nightly time consuming ritual with waiting times of up to 45 minutes. The bedroom we stayed in was large with a lovely sea view and very comfortable. However, towels were taken and not replaced, empty toiletries were not removed or replaced and the room was never thoroughly cleaned. Overall the facilities were excellent but let down by the poor attention to detail and service.

Room tip: Choose a superior sea view room otherwise you will be looking out over a carpark.

I recently stayed at the Millennium Resort for a Laser regatta and took the full board option.
Buffet meals were really very good however I found it strange that water, tea and coffee were extra for lunch and dinner.
Rooms were a good size for two and the water view was great to wake up to each morning.
There was an issue with mosquitoes in the room.
Great bed, good shower and friendly staff throughout.
At approx 120 kms from Muscat (1.25 hours drive) not a lot of other things to keep you occupied during the day.
Overall a good hotel in a very interesting country.

Great hotel with great facilities for recreation. Trouble free check-in process. Lovely Duplex Apartment with wonderful view of marina & sea from Living room and master bedroom. Good size balcony to relax. Great infinity swimming pool and pool bar. Playing mini golf, tennis and badminton was fun. Ice maker on each floor. Wifi signal was fluctuating a lot . In room dining menu was very disappointing. Breakfast was the usual stuff. Nice private beach to swim and relax. All-together a great place to relax and have fun with family & friends...

Room tip: Sea view rooms/ apartments are worth extra money. Apartments are better than hotel rooms as its bigger and well equipped ...

The Millenium mussanah is a perfect place to stay either one weekend or to come often to enjoy their sports facilities. Everything is new, excellent staff, nice rooms with stunning ocean views. I stayed in the studio apartment with kitchen, all the furnitures were first quality and the room was very comfortable. The location is perfect for diving and water sports.

Restaurants and bars offer a excelent food and they have all kind of beers and liquors. The hotel has 3 main pools, one ladies pool and one kids pool, so everybody can be satisfy. Private beach and marina.

Is 1 hour away from the airport of Muscat but is worth to go.

No complains about the hotel and the staff, amazing place and service. Totally recommended place to visit in Oman!

Room tip: There are many events in the hotel so it's better to check in advance to get rooms

The large hotel is located in Mussanah, about 70km west of the airport, and about 100km west of Muscat. If you intend to do some sightseeing, a car is an absolute must. It opened in 2010, but some construction activity is still going on (for an additional restaurant). Therefore, and also because it was built "in the middle of nowhere", it still looks a bit bare and sterile. But the hotel itself is very nice: it has got a beach, several swimming pools, a garden between the building and the sea, and a restaurant with a terrace so you can sit outside if it is too cool for you inside. Actually, the entire hotel was chilled down to 22 degrees Celsius, which feels too cold if it is 30 degrees and above outside. We shut down the AC in our room completely; the temperature then rose to a pleasant 25 degrees. The room was very comfortable: sea view, a balcony with two chairs and a small table, comfortable beds with reading lamps, a desk with a chair, an armchair, TV, safe, kettle for tea or coffee, refrigerator, free WLAN, and ample space to store your things. The bathroom was spacious too, with generous space to put your toiletries. Free parking. The dinner and the breakfast buffets were always gorgeous with an enormous variety of foods (about 40 USD per person). We stayed for 8 nights and liked it very much.
We chose the Millennium because we wanted to do some diving, and Al Sawadi Beach Resort was fully booked (as it turned out, a lucky occurrence). The OmanSail dive shop at the Millennium is quite new, it opened in Feb 2013 only. Their boat is very comfortable and fast. Nevertheless it takes about 1 hour to drive to the dive sites around the Daymaniyat Islands.
