Set well outside of Chesterfield (£9 taxi ride) what sets this budget hotel above the rest are its staff. Friendly, helpfull, efficient they greet returning guests by name and go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. The same is true of the Beefeater next door where again staff make dining there such a pleasure.
In terms of accomodation the rooms are clean and adequate for a short stay. There is no bath but the shower is ok and I found the bed quite firm and the pillows a bit thin - but this appears to be the Premier Inn standard.
There is no cover between the hotel and the Beefeater and the hotel has no lounge. The Beefeater itself serves a really excellent ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce, which I would highly recommend. Other options such as the chicken rissotto were less appealing however being a bit bland in flavour with oddly textured chicken.
Both the hotel and Beefeater have many returning guests and I would also return and definitely order the steak.
