My husband and I planned a week to explore the East Midlands and the Peak District. Cowclose was chosen for its location- and then we met Barbara and Alan. They welcomed 2 very tired travellers to their Swallows cottage. Accomodation was spotlessly clean, totally comfortable, spacious, and fully functional. Our hosts provided, in addition to delicious homemade bread and a welcome bottle of wine, faultless directions and suggestions for sights and activities beyond the usual. What more can be said- it was very difficult to leave. Their introduction to Derbyshire will bring us back again and again. Gail and Jeff Bogert from Virginia, USA

I came up to Derbyshire with a friend to house hunt. We had booked into another B&B in Chesterfield and quickly booked out the next day, it was awful. We were lucky enough to have Cowclose Farm recommended to us by the lovely ladies in the tourism office in Chesterfield. The location is beautiful, the love, care and attention and quality of the every detail is evident the minute you arrive. Our charming hosts clearly love their farm and looked after us perfectly. There is also a lovely quiet country pub almost opposite in which we had a delicious evening meal. Breakfast was home cooked and delicious. We would give our stay a very deserved 10/10.

Booked Bed and Breakfast with a cousin visiting from Canada. Our welcome could not have been warmer, the menu was extensive, the food superb. In a beautiful location we had the best possible welcome from Barbara and Allan, and left feeling we had been staying with friends! Overall, second to none, I would recomment this 'home from home' without any hesitation, and also the beautiful self-catering cottages which we were able to have a look around. I was so pleased that my Canadian visitor went home with such a wonderful example of British hospitality. I could not have wished for better.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cowclose Farm. Barbara and Allen gave a warm welcome and were full of local knowledge, helping us plan walks from the front door. The room had every home comfort we needed and there was a wide choice of breakfast options. The farm is well situated on the edge of Chesterfield with great views and opposite a handy pub. We'll definitely be back!
