What can I say about this truly wonderful villa (19th Villa, Anfi Tauro).
Firstly, a comment on the the owner. Gerard is such a kind hearted and lovely man, nothing was too much trouble for him. If we needed anything, he was only a phone call away. He was always happy to help.
This was our first holiday abroad as a family and staying at this villa was very special indeed. The local beach in Amadores is very beautiful with all its bars and shops and only took about ten minutes to walk or two minutes to drive.
The first few days were mainly spent in the private heated salt water pool and hot tub! Our children, (15yrs,13yrs and 8yrs) couldn't get enough of the water. Our youngest actually learnt to swim in the villas pool!
This place has everything you need for a self catering holiday, from dishwasher to music/tv system and washing machine to hairdryers (I believe we found three lol!)
There is air conditioning in all the bedrooms and plenty of fans in the living/dining room. It has a generous open plan layout with large patio doors that run the length of the property.
The garden has its own palm tree with beautiful flowers and plants growing around the boarders. On occasions we saw small lizards going about their daily business in the shrubbery and some quite large butterflies flying over the flowers. The children especially enjoyed seeing them.
If you need any essentials, then there is a spar shop about a minutes walk from the front door. There is also a bar/grill and a good sized communal pool next to the shop. The pool is only for the owners and guests of the villas. There are plenty of comfortable sun loungers around the pool, including a table tennis and snooker table.
There is so much to see and do in Gran Canaria, we were there two weeks and that still wasn't long enough. We would definitely recommend hiring a car in order to explore the Island. The highlight of our holiday was an excursion to the summit (well almost summit) to see the stars. We booked an astronomy workshop with the company AstroGC. They picked us up by minibus in the evening and took us up the mountain via some hair raising roads with some very tight hairpin corners. If you suffer with travel sickness, then a good dose of meds before you go would be beneficial. Also wear warm clothes as it's quite nippy up there in the night. When the sun goes down the stars come out and there a quite a few of them!
We would highly recommend the 19th villa in Anfi Tauro ( there is a walk through video on YouTube) and would love to return one day soon.
If you want privacy, peace and quiet. A beautiful villa that's large enough for up to seven people within stunning surroundings ( the complex backs onto a championship golf course) then this villa is for you. Gerard also has other villas if the 19th is booked up. You can also see walk through videos of these on YouTube.
Back for the 2nd time - will book a 3rd.
Villa ideal for my extended family - disabled daughter and 8 month old Grandaughter. Large rooms, all on one level, lovely pool, jacuzzi and hot tub and just about everything else you need.Quiet and peaceful location but just a short distance from great restaurants - and a short drive to fabulous Puerto Mogan.
Gerard always helpful - even when given no notice at all. Thanks Ger.
Well looked after by Senor Rachid - especially when we locked ourselves out! Got us a superb shower chair for my daughter.
I cant recommend this villa highly enough.
Excellent villa for our family (7 adults) to relax and unwind.
Good beaches, restaurants and golf all on your doorstep, with many other facilities a short drive (rented car) away.
Would return with family or friends.
This is a lovely villa set in a good location. Plenty of living space, all very well kept and with everything you could need. Layout is very nice with the living space and bedrooms all facing the central outdoor area. Pool in the garden is fun for the kids, only small but there is a large communal pool less than a minute away which is great for swimming and playing. Restaurant and Spar shop on site very useful, did all our shopping there. Complex was quiet and peaceful, no road noise and no noise from neighbours, although I'm not sure we had any at this time of year! A few minutes drive to Amadores beach which is very popular, also the new beach which is even closer will open later this year. A great option for a family holiday.
Four of us (2 couples) stayed in Anfi Tauro for two glorious weeks in May. The villa has everything you might want - large bedrooms, well fitted bathrooms and, for us, the highlight of a large covered terrace which protects from the heat of the day but enjoys the evening sun. Add the swimming pool (heated to around 25C) and a hot tub (a welcome addition for one of our party who has back trouble) and you have the near perfect holiday accommodation. A particular feature of the Anfi Tauro villas is that each one is completely private - all rooms and windows face inwards to the terrace, garden and pool, leaving you with just a glimpse of the golf course and magnificent mountain scenery.
The development also houses a large communal pool (also heated), a very nice restaurant/grill and even a Spar supermarket - all within convenient walking distance. The resorts of Puerto Mogan, Peurto Rico and Arguineguin and within a few minuted drive and golfers will appreciate the 18 hole championship course which is part of the development.
The villa is part of Anfi Tauro golf resort. There are several types of houses and villas in Anfi Tauro and this type is definitely the best one - most comfortable, most pleasant, the best house layout. This particular villa has some sweet extras like heated pool (by the rooftop sun system) and a garden jacuzzi which is great for tired golfers. For your cooking ambitions you can use wel equipped kitchen and 2 garden grills (charcoal and gas). In case ou prefere to be spoiled by proffesional cooks the restaurant with tasty local and international meals is just 2-min walk away (and the grocery shop as well). Golf course is right there and also the golf training area with driving range, putting and chipping greens and pitch and putt golf course. The beach is nearby and large community pool just 1-minute walk. We come back almost every year, the owner always makes some small improvements and the villa is in a great shape.
We went as a group of 7 (4 adults, 3 kids) and had an absolutely fantastic holiday.
Pre-visit information: the owner sent a detailed booklet with contact details, directions, instructions and recommendations. Very helpful indeed.
Location: about 35 mins from the airport. Motorway all the way. Very easy to find. Secluded location in an exclusive gated development. Right next to the golf club (not that that's our thing). A minutes walk to the Spar and a restaurant. Access through the golf club to the beach. (Unfortunately Tauro beach was closed). It was a 1.5 k jog/ walk to Amadores beach. We took the car one day. The kids had a marvellous time. We had a nice meal at one of the beach restaurants.
The villa: I really can't say enough about it. It was everything we would have wanted and more. Spacious. Light. Fully equipped kitchen. Books to read. CDs to play. Washing machine. Comfy beds. Nice showers. Clean. 2 barbecues. A seating area in the shade and another in the sun. A little heated pool and a hot tub. We spent 4 of our 6 days at the villa sipping cocktails in the hot tub as the kids entertained themselves in the pool.
We had a wonderful time and will definitely consider returning.
