For our last dinner in Bantayan, we chose to eat at Anika Restaurant since it's close to where we were staying. We ordered grilled fish, crisp fried pork and pinakbet. No one could go wrong with pinakbet. It was server hot and it was a big serving. The crispy pork wasn't crispy but burnt. It had that burnt taste to it that even the sauce can't conceal. The grilled fish was didn't look inviting and it wasn't even slightly deboned which made it tasking to eat plus the lighting in the resto was dim. It was fresh though. Plating of all these dishes were not presentable at all. I can better plate a simple dish at home.
The place also needs better ventilation, or maybe they should fumegate. By the end of dinner my sister and I had also been feasted on by mosquitoes maybe. Felt really unpleasant since I had to scratch my itchy leg and get rid of tiny fishbones.
On top of the not so satisfying food, and unpleasant dining experience, it was also the most expensive meal we had in the island. Too much disappointment for our last dinner.
