This beautiful scenic hideaway is a must to visit, especially if you're travelling the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand. You have the choice of soaking in the public hot mineral pool at the bottom of the bush park, private pools, or walking up through native bush to the top pools. Whatever you choose, you will come away feeling relaxed and revived! These are natural springs which have been used for their healing power for at least a century, especially by local Maori. You can also choose to take a small walk in a beautiful stand of Nikau Palms and native bush, or go for a hike of over 2 hours. This bush will not disappoint, as it is full of native birds, eg tui, bellbirds and kereru (wood pigeon). You may wish to have a picnic on the large lawns or take a plunge in the cold pool. If you need a snack these are also available on-site, with a cafe across the road for even more choice. There's also accommodation across the road too, if you want a real outback kiwi experience - and the cost is reasonable. Hope you love the place like I do!!

“Superb experience”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

This is the second time I've been to Morere and it's even better than in the 80s. The Nikau pools are amazing, a lovely forest walk followed by a soak, lulled by birdsong. We didn't go in the main pool this visit, but overall our impression was the place was clean, friendly and beautiful. A real highlight of our trip.

“Breathtaking location”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

Wow! This place is amazing - I'm almost scared to review it in case too many people start going there! We hired a private pool for half an hour after stumbling across the pools on the drive between Napier and Gisborne. We couldn't get over the beautiful setting - being able to soak in a private hot pool with a NZ bush scene and creek right next to it was stunning. Friendly staff and very reasonably priced I would highly recommend it to anyone (so long as they keep it a secret!)

“Nice break after a long drive”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

Haven't been here since I was a kid. Thought I would take my partner who is Aussie. The private pool was very hot and we couldn't stay in the half hour we had booked. No problem we went for a walk through the short track...a bit muddy after the rain earlier in the week but still enjoyable.
Glad I returned and the weather over Easter was beautiful and there were lots of patrons. Really good to see.

“Lovely hot pools”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

I wish it was a cold day when we were there because the pools were so hot. We got a private pool for 30 mins but had to get out after 10 mins as they were a bit hot for me. Beautiful rain forest walking up to the top pools (public) with a crystal clear creek beside the new asphalt track
