Lovely overnight stay; quick hit of rest/relaxation. Countryside location (retail therapy nearby if required). Beautiful grounds, luxury room, spa and therapies, incredible food, warm welcome. Leisurely, serene. No rush to leave.

This was my second visit to this hotel and whilst I had a better stay my comments will probably reinforce those of others. This time, I had a lovely room in the newer section of the hotel overlooking the ornamental lake. I was very happy with it and the bed was fantastic.

A real plus of this hotel is the gym - it's great and obviously very popular locally. In addition, the food was excellent and staff friendly.

So, less positively, the difficulties with getting around the building with luggage remain - there are steps everywhere and even getting through the front door from the car park isn't for the fain hearted. This wouldn't be a suitable hotel for anyone with access issues. Secondly, the wifi is intermittent and a real problem that needs simply to be sorted. Thirdly, the public areas and corridors remain a muddle and in need of refurbishment. Finally, the bar is lovely but really far too small. It was overcrowded both nights I was there but mainly because the main seating area was taken by a very rowdy group of non-resident gym members. Most hotel bars I use are full of business people such as myself quietly trying to catch up on email whilst grabbing a snack. The management perhaps need to ensure that such guests aren't put off by rowdy non-residents.

All in all I would cautiously recommend this hotel.

We booked one night bed, breakfast and dinner in a classic room. The room was of a very high standard, well appointed, spacious and clean. We spent time using the spa facilities including the pool, jacuzzi and thermal suit which were of a good standard. Staff on reception and the bars were friendly. We found the restaurant a little disappointing. Staff were distant and only spoke when they had to. Very limited menu of four choices. Food was average and was included in the package price. Breakfast was okay. Our coffee was only lukewarm and we had to request fresh ones. The waitress being of ethnic origin found taking our breakfast order difficult due to the language barriers and we had to ask several times for specific requests. A comfortable stay let down by the restaurant experience. It would have been nice on departure if we had been asked if we had enjoyed our stay something I find lacking in a lot of hotels.

I have stayed at the Albrighton on several occasions and my latest visit compared favourably with all previous ones. So I'll be brief.....
Staff are excellent. They always acknowledge you, smile and are as helpful as possible.

Accommodation is very good. Large rooms with spacious en suites. Everything works. Rooms are neither too hot or cold and ventilation is very good. This helps for the good, peaceful nights sleep. Very little noise during the night too!!

The gym is excellent, with quality machines that are well maintained and significant numbers of them too, so you're never waiting for a station too long.

Food is very good. Whether you eat in the bar, or afford yourself some privacy in the restaurant, it's cooked well, using top quality ingredients and is very very tasty. Breakfasts are excellent, with a wide choice of hot food......coming from the kitchen and not in those vile tureens with heat lamps stewing the food.

The prices are a little on the high side, but I guess you have to expect that. They're certainly not "exorbitant for rubbish" which you can get in some chains.

Again. A lovely stay. I always come away feeling good after a gym workout, a feed, a few beers and a good nights sleep. And I guess that's what I really need from my hotel stays.

This hotel maintains it's standards, so well done.
