Looks stunning from the outside but a little tired on inside. Room are spacious and clean but bathroom could do with an upgrade. Basic tea and coffee facilities, I had a fridge but no water supplied. Swimming pool is not very big, multiple sauna and steam rooms, also looking a but tired. Well equipped gym.
Excellent choice of food, restaurant is quite formal and bar serves a more relaxed menu and can be eaten outside.

We were bought an afternoon tea gift experience as a Christmas present so we decided to redeem it on the 16/06/2018. When we arrived there was a wedding taking place but carried on to the main afternoon tea area. Staff seemed quite busy but showed us to our seats within 5-10 minutes, took our drink order. A couple of minutes later the drinks and food arrived. It was a nice relaxed atmosphere in a small traditional room. Again a few minutes after the food arrived a staff member enquired how we were getting on. Unfortunately after that we didn't see a staff member again. The food was ok, sandwiches a bit squashed and not a great selection, cakes abit overly sweet and without a lot of flavour, though the scones were nice, unfortunately we couldn't get anymore drinks because there was no one about. We ended up taking the voucher as payment to reception! We were followed by another customer who had been waiting an hour for someone to serve them afternoon tea. It seems as though they can't cope with the afternoon tea service when a large event is on.

On a five day break and stayed in a large room in the old stable block adjacent to the main manor house which is the main hotel building.
Large comfortable room, clean with a large bathroom with a walk in shower as well as a bath (took a while to adjust the shower temperature).
Food very good and the staff in general all very friendly and helpful.
Set in fifteen acres of garden with an ornamental lake, very attractive.

We had booked a superior double room but it was anything but superior! The location is a village just outside Shrewsbury with a great country feel to it. Outside is grassy with a lake, mature trees and open space.

The swimming pool and spa was a good facility. Well used by our party. Inside the room we had was below par. Little space, window needed repair or new lock needed. We arrived for a wedding but the number of staff for a wedding reception was poor.

Long waits at the bar. Breakfast was good, wedding meal above average. We wouldn’t go again unless it was another wedding. Just trying to be honest.

Having stayed here with work and received a warm welcome I decided to return with the wife. We booked a package including evening meal and a glass of wine each with the meal.
Upon checking in we was “informed” what time our meal was to be taken. I requested this be amaended to a time that suits us as I felt 1845 is too early and would or get 2000. We was then offered 2100 for which we declined. Apparently despite the hotel having my mobile nine we, email address and having received 2 emails from me they choose the time you will be eating! Eventually after meeting with the restaurant manager they managed to get us a table for 2030hours.
So we arrived at the restaurant and waited to be seated, a slightly queue in front, naturally we presumed these people were waiting to be seated, no this was a queue of people waiting to complain.
After ordering our started we waited 30 minutes for them to arrive, now we should of known something was amiss when:
we witnessed people being served their main course before their starters!
Drinks orders taking 25minutes to arrive
People constantly asking the waiting staff to find out where their meal was
We finally received our main course at 2145 hours, just when we finished eating this the table next to us received their deserts, they informed us that they had taken 2hours 45mins from sitting down to deserts being presented.
When asked if we wanted deserts we declined as I couldn’t wait another hour. When we joined the queue of people to complain the restaurant manager appeared to have disappeared leaving the waiting staff to deal with the complaints.
Overall very portly run restaurant with no leadership, would I stay here again? Possibly but would rather get a taxi in to Shrewsbury and eat there
If the manager would like to contact me directly please feel free
