Owner description: ‘Bergstadens Ziir’ – better known as Roros Church – was built during the copperwork’s golden age ‘in God’s honour and as an adornment to the town. The church, which was completed in 1784, does justice to its name with its majestic location high above the timber buildings. The Directorate for Cultural Heritage regards the church as one of the ten most profiled churches in Norway. It is one of the country’s largest churches with seating for 1,600 people. The church has been newly opened after 2 years of extensive renovation and has now been restored to its former glory.

This is a beautiful and well known church know in the charming city of Røros - worth a walk itself. The church is located in the middle of town, near the old buildings and the shopping street. The opening hours are very limited so I would highly recommend checking online.

Having ancestors that had attended this church made seeing it extra special. The church is atop a hill and you get beautiful views of it from all over Røros. The cemetery surrounds the church and is well maintained and so interesting to explore. I would definitely recommend a visit to this historic church!

Very good guide gave us a good impression of the history of the church and the town. Church is in centre of town and very easy to find. Also take a stroll in the Church-yard.

This is a very impressive old church from the late 1700s. The church contains a beautiful organ, private boxes for the wealthy, the king's box, and portraits of prominent Røros citizens. We attended a wonderful organ concert by their British organist in the evening.
