Ok so we could smell the flowers half a mile away and on arriving it looks impressive but we couldnt help get the feeling its still very much a project in the making. Lots of open spaces, overgrown fields and unkept areas. The glass dome is most impressive both inside and out, the " Woods of the world' were neither open nor impressive, just looked like a field of saplings and weeds. And the walk to the waterfall would have saved my disabled mother a very unstable treck on her hired mobility scooter had there been a sign to say that it was inaccessible for the disabled, She braved the uneven path down through the woods only to find that after a half mile she was faced with a steep step (too big for said scooter) and had to put in a 3 point turn and head back.
The areas that are clearly looked after are lovely but taking into consideration we sat and ate for 20 min, had an uneventful walk through the woods and had to come back the long way round past the ponds completely missing out the "slate beds" because of more steps, we were round and out in 2 and half hours. Oh and 2 small bottles of pop and a small bottle of water was nearly £5 !
To sum up, over rated, looks bigger on the leaflet. Pretty but left all of us feeling a little disappointed.
