“Amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

This is probably the loveliest, most well-equipped house I have ever stayed in. We were lucky enough to gt it over August Bank Holiday (six adults, two children and a baby) and were absolutely thrilled with it. The owner had thought of everything, from a range of coloured cups, plates and cutlery for the children to enough kitchen equipment for a Great British Bakeoff. Two sitting rooms, too! Best of all, we oldies were in an annexe and could sleep undisturbed.

Spent a brilliant weekend with friends staying at Millhayes. The house was perfect .. from a welcome hamper to fresh flowers.Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Would definately recommend anyone to stay there. Not sure the website does the house justice - it is stunningly beautiful - even on a wet weekend in Devon!

“Amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012 for a stay in April 2012

We were very lucky to have managed to book Millhayes for the Easter weekend, we were a group of 8 adults and a child. We absolutely loved it, the house is perfectly equipped and beautifully decorated to very high standards, very spacious and the views from the conservatory/dinning room and master bedroom are simply amazing.

Although very quiet and secluded, the town of Honiton is only 4 miles away by car with a number of independent shops and delis to suit every taste, and only a 20/30 minute drive to the coast.
Although we would have been perfectly happy to stay at the house the entire weekend, enjoying the gardens, cooking, reading by the log fire, watching DVDs or playing board games from the extensive collection available at the house, or simply soaking in the amazing stand alone bath tup in the main bathroom which is a must!

We will definitely be booking again!

“Secluded, tranquil retreat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2012 for a stay in March 2012

We were very lucky to find Millhayes - it had only just come on the rental market. A group of us got together for a long weekend and this area was a convenient central meeting place just off the A30. It was a great place to stay, very quiet, very well appointed. I slept better there than I do at home!

There was plenty of living space and, for a group of 4 couples, it worked out really well. We put the loudest snorer in the separate annex, so everyone was happy!

Although very well decorated, it still felt 'homely', log burner was a definite plus as the evenings were chilly. The kitchen was very well equipped - pots and pans of all shapes and sizes, so we didn't have the usual problem of bringing food for a meal and then not being able to cook it. There are even 3 ovens - not sure why, but proved useful!

The dining area is in a sort of conservatory and has wonderful views down across the garden and we enjoyed long and lazy breakfasts, sitting and watching squirrels, a pheasant and even a fleeting view of a fox!

We were blessed with some lovely weather for March, so even managed to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the garden. We didn't get time to find any walks or explore much, but it certainly looked a lovely area.

If you want to be near a town, I suppose the 4 miles to Honiton could be a negative and the garden is quite steep, but we thought it was great. It was perfect for us.
