“Simply The Best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 October 2013

This B&B is the jewel of France. Gary, Mark and Darren have got this place running like clockwork.
The genuine warmth and hospitability shared by this highly professional trio makes you feel at home right from the onset. The team work and attention to detail is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble and we didn’t want to leave.
Set at the edge of a beautiful tranquil village, the Prieure is a magnificent property surrounded by beautiful gardens both of which are maintained to an exceptionally high standard by the owners.
The Prime location of this B&B makes commuting to the many places of interest, very easy.

The five course evening meals are to die for. Darren a chef by profession produces evening meals which compare with any top notch London restaurant. The produce used for his master creations are all home grown by the team in a part of the beautiful gardens that surround this magnificent house.
My wife and I are In the hospitality industry ourselves and are global travellers having experienced many variations of accommodation, but this is without doubt the best B&B we have ever stayed in.
We have stayed here on numerous occasions and the high standards, energy and enthusiasm do not falter. Thank you fellas for yet another great holiday, we will return. Martin & Catherine Oct 2013

We have had another brilliant holiday with the boys this year. Rooms, meals, etc., was faultless.
Met many interesting people at evening meals.
Our room was very comfortable, clean even fresh garden flowers. Pool is lovely (was warm)
Location quite central to most places we enjoyed visiting.
Waiting for 2014....Hope to visit again

A great place to visits superb location and fantastic hosts . Good hospitality would highly recommend the pre booked evening meal. A great base to visit the Lot Dordogne and Aveyron regions. Clean and comfortable accomodation with a super swimming pool.

Room Tip: Although in a village with shops you will need a car to access the region and other tourist areas a...

A memorable stay for many reasons....
Really friendly, personal welcome, beautifully presented rooms and facilities, complemented if required, by an excellent five course dinner together with wine.
In our case, we shared the table with French and Swiss guests which added to the pleasure, later joined by our three congenial hosts, which was a hoot.
The level of service and attention to detail, set standards that others can only hope to follow.

If you are looking for a quiet retreat, in a stunning location, beautiful pool, lovely rooms that are clean and fresh, this is the place for you. When you get there the welcome and service with the right level of attention balanced with your privacy will also delight you. The food is very good and drinks are always available by the pool, they really have thought of everything you need to make your stay a memorable experience. If you think this review is over the top please go and stay there and you will see that it is not. If you are interested in bird watching, Mark feeds the birds in the garden and gets a variety of visitors to delight you (ask him about the owl).

We've been waiting sometime to visit Garfield and the boys, we've heard loads about the place from friends. We finally got there in July and as expected - outstanding. Amazing welcome, the surroundings and hospitality are second to none. Clean, comfortable and nothing too much trouble. The food, all home grown or home made, was superb. Veg straight from the garden when available, complimented the five course evening meal which was excellent value with just the right amount of company. Making sure your meal is served, your glass is full and then left alone to enjoy at your own pace, to reappear for the next course. All done and the hosts will join you for drinks. Rooms are well presented and comfortable, with a fan if required. Breakfast served in the summer kitchen or on the patio near the pool, continental with cereal if require. The summer kitchen serves as a day room to shelter from the sun or make a cuppa/cool drink. The place is nicely located for touring the lovely scenic area or visiting new or old towns.

Easily a 5* experience

Room Tip: Room 1 if available with french doors leading to outside dinning area

What a gem this place is! Well positioned to visit beautiful towns and villages set in outstanding scenery between the Dordogne and Lot rivers.
The accommodation is faultless. The rooms are well appointed and spotlessly clean. The breakfast room / lounge is delightful with facility to make drinks whenever you like or take a cold drink from the bar fridge. The outside terrace and pool area is so relaxing all set deep in the countryside and just a few minutes walk into the lovely village of St. Germain Du Bell Air.
Evening meals are an amazing 5 course, low cost, gastro delight taken on the romantic terrace or in the spacious dining room. The hosts give such friendly professional service whilst cleverly integrating but giving personal space.
Value for money is so good I shall be returning for another fix soon.

Room Tip: The ground floor double room is beautiful with French windows directly onto the terrace.
