Chateau de Chassagne-Montrachet
Reviewed 30 May 2014

This is a contemporary Chateau where you can stay, visit for wine tasting and lunch. If you are travelling in Beaune and looking for a tour and wine tasting in a winery, this is a good choice. You don't have to join a group tour or speak French, you can just sign up on the website. It's very close to Beaune, around 30 mins drive. The person in charge speaks very good English. He took us for a walk around the chateau and the cellar and explained to us the grape varietals used, the planting, harvest and wine production process. There is a gallery in the chateau where some contemporary arts or painting are showcased for appreciation and purchase. We were then led into a dining room for a wine-tasting lunch. The wine portion is very little, and the lunch is just some local produce cooking, but this is quite an experience. See photos attached.
