Just back from one night with Sylvie and her family. What can I say .. Amazing Amazing Amazing :-)
We stayed in a newly renovated room over looking the garden and the River. Very stylish and tasteful with everything you need for a truly magnificent stay. Sylvie couldn't be more lovely.. friendly, helpful, and did amazingly to converse in English with us. We had the table d'hote home made meal, served in a beautiful potting shed with windows to 2 sides overlooking the river.. all home made, serving with wine and all the trimmings. Even with my special diet Sylvie looked through recipes to make sure she cooked something I could eat ( most 5* hotels wouldn't offer to do this ). A great nights sleep with the silent sound of the river nearby was tranquil. Breakfast was served in the lovely dining room ( rain that morning so no chance to eat on the patio sadly ) . Yet again Sylvie offered me a choice so that there was something I could eat. What was offered was gorgeous, plenty of bread, ham, cheese, pastries, fruit, coffee and her amazing home-made preserves, the Apricot and Lavender was my favourite, and my friend loved the Watermelon and Lemon. The location is perfect, next to the river, 4 mins drive from the nearby village ( not that we wanted to leave the beautiful setting ).
All I can say in that I would recommend this everyone... its a truly spectacular place to stay, Sylvie and her family are the perfect hosts and we will stay again with Sylvie the next time we come to look at houses over in the Charente area. Thank you Sylvie for a very memorable stay.
