“Never again!”

River Queen Cruises
Reviewed 23 March 2014

They called and cancelled our trip because they "didn't get enough people". We were almost out the door. They should have warned us this could happen when we reserved it. Three very disappointed people. I will never take a chance with them again. Apparently, they do this a lot.

There are two companies that offer river cruises in the Sebastian area. We've done both, but prefer the River Queen. By the way, it's no longer going out of the marina in Micco, but instead it sales from behind Mulligan's on the river down near the town park.
They offer 3 different tours. One goes down the Sebastian River, one to the Sebastian Inlet, and the other to Pelican Island. We've done all three several times and each time we go, we see something different. It's a wonderful way to spend a few hours on the water and simply relax and take in the natural beauty of the area. One word of warning. Since they're at their new location, boarding the ship for anyone with a walking issue might be a problem as a rather steep ramp must be used to get from the dock onto the boat. The people are very kind, and do help those who need assistance, but it is something you might want to consider if you have walking or balance problems. Also, they do have a minimum of 6 passengers before they will go out. However, last year we went with only 4 of us, and once the captain found out we couldn't return another day due to our guests being from out of town, they did take out just the 4 of us. The fee is $32 with a $2 discount given to seniors. The boats have bathrooms and snacks and drinks can be purchased for around a dollar. Take a ride on the river, you'll love the experience.

We took the River Queen Jungle Cruise (3 hours),(which departs from Mulligans pier in Sebastian), up the Indian River Lagoon and St. Sebastian River this afternoon. My husband and I enjoyed the trip. The Captain shared his knowledge of the area, plants, and wildlife. We saw a few dolphins, alligators, blue heron, osprey and many other local birds. The Captain slowed the boat several times so that all on board could see them and get some photos. All in all a pleasant excursion.

We tried to go out at 10am but they didn't have enough people... So we went at 2:30pm. It was looking like rain so I checked my iPhone radar and showed a storm to the captain. He said it was nothing. It started to rain before we left BUT WE WENT OUT ANYWAY! The weather got really bad .. Lightening, wind, pouring rain, couldn't see anything and we still kept going. Finally after we said something the captain turned around. After all this and the owner still would not return our money. They are very hard to do business with and I highly recommend you look elsewhere for your boat ride and adventure.

We went on this cruise on a Monday. The day was beautiful. We had a fantastic crew, Captain Earl and first mate Leo were very knowledgeable and did a great job of showing the wildlife and explaining the area. Captain Earl would slow or stop the boat to let us see and take pictures of the wildlife. We cruised in the lagoon first and then went into the river where we saw many birds, alligators and turtles. In the lagoon, we saw dolphins and fish jumping out of the water. We were able to stand in the front of the boat to get an even better look of the wildlife and some of the beautiful homes along the way. I would recommend this to anyone.
