“Wonderful B&B in the heart of lively Cornish village”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2009

We spent four days walking the Cornish coast with St Just as our base. No 11 is a small and cosy B&B in a beautifully renovated cottage with an eye for quality, ranging from tasteful bed lamps and superb bath room facilities to a most delicious breakfast prepared with local delicacies. Thanks to Paul and Mel for their warm welcome!

We stayed for one night whilst walking the coast path. This is a great B&B in an old stone cottage that has been sympathetically modernised. Our room was really lovely with a small but perfectly formed en suite. The complementary tolietries were a nice touch, as was the information pack on St Just and surrounding area and friendly welcome. The local pub The Star Inn is full of character. Breakfast was really good, with the usual suspects, but we had scrambled egg and smoked samon which made a change from the usual B&B fare.

We fell upon this place by chance through a review on Trip Advisor and what a find! It was our first experience of a B&B and it was absolutely superb. Living in London we expected to find chintzy curtains and nasty bathrooms but this was like staying in a boutique style hotel. The young couple that own it were great too, very easygoing and made you feel completely relaxed almost like being at home but without having to make your own breakfast! But totally not imposing and really helpful about the local area if you had questions or wanted tips on where to visit.

The cottage is really cosy and inviting and it has a lovely garden/terrace at the back which looks on to a field, just perfect for having your breakfast on a sunny day! Though I imagine the cottage being equally as magical in the Winter. The young couple that own it apparently bought it and completely renovated it and so everything is modern and tastefully decorated, completely in tune with the character of the cottage.

The bedroom has beautiful wooden beds laid with white cotton sheets, moroccan style lanterns and a plasma screen TV, along with tea and coffee making facilities and delicious biscuits that are replenished daily. The cottage was spotless, as were the bedrooms and bathrooms and it had a lovely feel to the place.

This place would be ideal for a romantic weekend away, a week's holiday in Cornwall, or even just if you wanted a place to stay whilst exploring the beautiful surrounding areas of St. Just, Sennan and Porthcurno. It was so great that we went back 3 weeks later for the Bank Holiday Weekend!

Definitely no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this place to anyone as I know you won't be let down and you can't help but love this place!

I found this superb B&B through the tourist information desk at the library. It is run by a charming young couple who renovated this old granite cottage themselves and have done so with real attention to detail. The bedroom and bathroom were finished in a contemporary style but sympathetic to the building; the bed was comfortable with a duck down quilt and an array of different teas, coffee and biscuits was provided. It was also impeccably clean. The most important aspect though was the hospitality of the owners who made me feel relaxed and at home. The breakfast was amazing, being generous and using local produce,. They only have two rooms available, one with en-suite and the tariff was very reasonable for such a high quality establishment. It is situated on the main street into town from Penzance so is easy to find, I would heartily recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, ethical and friendly place to stay.
