I can honestly say that we couldn't have had better hosts than Rick and Chris. They were so friendly and helpful, yet not at all intrusive. It was Andys birthday and Rick and Chris thoughtfully gave him a lovely card and a bottle of prosecco. How did they know that's our favourite tipple?! This was in addition to all sorts of 'welcome' goodies. The accommodation was spotless, warm, comfortable and furnished to the sort of high standard that we would like to aspire to at home. It was just all brilliant. The view from the barn is wonderful and we both felt so rested after our three night stay. There are walks and footpaths and wildlife galore all straight from the barn, and there is so much to do. We are keen bird watchers and were very pleased with all the birds we saw, including choughs, kestrels, a great auk, buzzards, and peregrine falcon, amongst many others.
If you're looking for somewhere really comfortable and beautifully furnished with everything you could possibly want, with lovely hosts, in a wonderful, quiet area, yet very close to St Just, then look no further. Crugkern Barn is the place for you.

We spent four nights at Crugkern Barn after a recommendation from a friend and it was a real treat. It's been thoughtfully kitted out with everything you could need for a relaxing stay (including a very useful daysack with OS map, sun cream, tupperware and blanket!) and beautifully decorated with handmade artwork. The setting is wonderfully peaceful with plenty to see and do nearby, and our hosts Rick and Chris could not have been more friendly or helpful. We had a fab holiday and hope to return!

First of all, the hospitality from Rick and Chris sets this accommodation apart. Their welcome and concern for your well being is second to none. They gave us excellent advice on beaches, places to eat and to visit. The surrounding area is fascinating with a stark beauty at times that lets you discover its hidden gems. I have to say that the beaches are outstanding. Some of the very best we have visited. Even at my middle aged years I was tempted to use the body board again that Rick offered and loved it.
The accommodation has been lovingly put together, with wonderful personal touches. We particularly appreciated the beach bag with everything you needed folreadyr the day. We used it on two of our three days. The barn is cosy and comfortable. We enjoyed preparing meals, sitting outside and barbecuing in the barn's amazing private garden.
We look forward to another visit and are already planning for next year.
Thanks so much Rick and Chris. Hope to see you soon.

I can't praise Crugkern Barn or Rick and Chris enough. The barn has everything you need, no beach pebble left unturned! Right from booking, Rick was in contact to ensure our stay was as memorable as it could be. My husband and I are vegans, "provisions" were adapted to meet our dietary needs - the most scrummy home made bread, lovely local jam from "The Gull at the Gate" and Chris had been busy making us flapjacks for our arrival, a really kind gesture. I was celebrating my birthday while we holidayed and travelled to Carbis Bay to eat at The Bean Inn (even if you're not vegetarian or vegan, check it out). Rick had popped in to say "Happy Birthday" and handed me a card and cakes that Chris had made. I was so touched. Lovely people with such personal attention to detail, such natural hosts. We were lucky enough to get to Sennen beach for body boarding on two of the days and took a short walk to St Just for entertainment in the evenings. Thank you Rick and Chris for your hospitality, we will certainly be back.

Crugkern is a compact modernised barn expertly converted into holiday accommodation for two people. My wife and I loved staying here, as despite its compact dimensions, it has everything we needed and even better, it is situated in the most beautiful location not far from St Just in Penwith, near the coast (1.2 miles) & with a very attractive aspect. Located in the owners well tended gardens, it is both luxurious and comfortable and everything a holiday maker could wish for has been thought about and provided. The kitchen area is fully equipped, modern & easy to keep clean so self catering is made simple. The shower room is spacious and the sleeping area is cunningly arranged so that despite the small dimensions there is plenty of storage room for your clothes. Radio and TV/DVD are provided, but we never switched them on! We were so tired from walking and exploring on the Cornish coast and countryside we had no need for any other distractions. We were able to send a few emails while staying in the barn as good Wifi is provided. The afore mentioned gardens are extensive and are visited by a large number of garden birds. For anyone interested in wildlife, particularly those who like bird watching, this place is a paradise. Small details like the welcome pack consisting of tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter and local cheese were really appreciated too.
Finally mention must be made of the owners, Rick & Chris, who are the brains behind this tiny but perfectly formed miracle. We received a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble, added to which Rick is a mine of local information about St Just and the best kept local secrets to visit, so we would not hesitate to recommend the barn to any one (or two) ! .

Crugkern Barn is beautifully compact with everything we required and great attention to detail. We loved the addition of Chris' artwork too and although close to the owners' home, the barn and garden are not overlooked at all. A Lovely warm welcome from Rick, including homemade bread and local cheese! The location was perfect, secluded and surrounded by amazing countryside but within walking distance of Saint Just and a short drive to the Minack Theatre. A very luxurious and relaxing weekend break - just wish we could have stayed for longer! Will certainly recommend it to friends and family.
Exemplary attention to detail when it comes to comfort and convenience for guests - plus a very lovely environment and a warm, friendly, but unobtrusive welcome
