Weve been to Elveden forest four times now and never had a problem with our rooms until now.
We stayed in the new style woodland lodge and have a baby so needed to get the cot and highchair out of the boiler room and found a massive ants nest.
And center parcs didnt even care when we complained about it.

An awesome experience. A short family break for seven of us. Excellent service on arrival. Easy to find villa, Which was modern and had good facilities. Rooms a little small but not a problem on a short break. The park was clean, busy but enjoyable. Bike rental easy both in pickup, fixing and return. Pool busy and crowded but understandable. Restaurants not great later evening, slow services and busy cleaning earlier guests tables and setting up for next day but, not a real issue.

Enjoyable and hope to be back at some point in the future.

We stayed in a 3 bed exec lodge. For myself, wife and 2 children it was just the right size. We could not fault the accommodation at all....

But, as for the so called sub tropical swimming paradise. That it is not. If, like us, you've been to Florida, or Dubai and we expecting something similar - then think again. This is at best about as good as waterworld in stoke. So think £15 per person per day kind of value.

That said, whilst the accommodation was great, overall value for money was pretty poor. £1000 for a family of 4 inc activities (which are all extra), but excl food.

We have a 13 year old computer obsessed boy and an 11 year old girl. My husband work long hours and we wanted a weekend of family time away from everything. Center Parcs delivered!
We paid for a 2 bed New Executive which was worth the extra. House was lovely and clean and the kids loved the music in the bathrooms! Comfortable beds, coffee machine wine fridge! We made sure that we booked our activities well in advance. This way we were not shocked by the price of them when we got there and not disappointed if they were unavailable.
We did the laser quest. It was so lovely to see my husband and son working together (and taking it very seriously) where as my daugher and I just tried not to get shot. We also did the ariel adventure where again it was a case of working as a family to encourage everyone round. We also did the rock climbing. This was not so good as there were 12 people in our session. Each person only got two climbs as some took a very long time to get up. I think the session should be limited to 8 max. This gives those that want to at least another go and people like me that struggled could have had another go at making it up without feeling under pressure (I only got 1 attempt in 2 hours!!!!!) there was far too much standing around.

The whole parc seemed very relaxed (outside of the pool area) and the absence of cars made it very safe for both the children to have the freedom to cycle around as much as they liked.

The pool was busy, but we expected that. We only had to wait one time for a cubicle to change and that was for 5 mins. The children enjoyed the Cyclone and the wait time was 10 min approx. I think they were slightly disappointed with the size of the pool area but to be fair they were comparing it with Orlando and Blizzard Beach (not a fair comparison!!!)

Eating out was very expensive however, we took plenty for breakfast and lunch. Pancake house was stupidly overpriced. Nearly £6 for a pancake with lemon and sugar is not justifiable in any way. The Italian was nice. Service took a while but it gave us time to talk over all the things we had done that day so we were in no rush. The kids loved Hucks.

Service from staff was friendly and helpful.

We not sure about booking Center Parcs but had been persuaded to by the children. Having done our weekend we have already booked for August Bank holiday.

As our 13 year old boy said 'This is one of the best weekends I've ever had' and that's priceless.

Room Tip: Pay for the best you can afford. We decided to go for a better grade of accommodation rather than a...

The Lakeside Hotel was expensive for what you get, rooms with tired decor. The only activity that was free was the Sub-tropical swimming pool so unless you want to spend your entire break there you need a lot of money which we just didn't have to do activities. Prices are over inflated.

Hi and thanks for posting your review.

I am sorry you were disappointed on this visit and felt that the hotel had tired décor. Every unit of accommodation will receive a minor or major refurbishment every 4 years although clearly we endeavour to maintain every unit to an acceptable standard at all times.

With regards to our pricing policy, in line with many other holiday operators we review our prices throughout the year on a regular basis, based on demand and in accordance with the fluctuations within the market.

Kind regards

This is our second visit here and it was a spur of the moment booking. We checked into a 3 bedroom exec lodge, and was disappointed with the cleanliness. This included finding the previous guests remaining food in a kitchen cupboard. A missing remote and a faulty lamp had me down at guest services speaking to Mike. At these prices I shouldn't have these issues! Mike arranged (quickly) for everything to be remedied and we received a gift as well which was a nice touch. We went onto to have the lovely holiday we were expecting.

We have just returned from our sixth annual Easter break at Center Parcs. Our daughters aged 11 and 8 absolutely love it there, especially the swimming pool which, although it can be quite crowded at certain times, is great fun. They loved the new water ride even though they had to queue up for about 10 minutes first. The showering and changing facilities are still not really first-rate, unfortunately; it is difficult to find your way around the changing cubicle area, and sometimes there are not enough cubicles or showers available......We stayed in a 2-bed woodland lodge, which we found clean and generally well-equipped, although the heating came on rather late in the morning. It can be expensive if you book lots of activities and eat out a lot, but it is not essential to do these all the time - in fact, we find it is better to space out the activities and take things a bit easier. We were a bit annoyed that we were told we needed to hire an adult cycle for our 11-year-old daughter because of her height, as this was more expensive. On the whole, however, we had a great time, just wish that a) it was not so expensive and b) the time would not go so quickly, it is hard to pack everything in!
