“The best weekend ever!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 November 2013

Me and 11 friends went on holiday for the weekend mainly to celebrate my 21st birthday but also for a chance to go away together in general. We booked one of the games lodges which included a sauna and a pool table and had an absolutely fantastic weekend! It was comfortable and practical for all of us, including the couples, and was well sound insulated not only for those in the other houses but also for those who wanted an earlier night than others, which was quite impressive as we were pretty noisy and yet people upstairs could sleep undisturbed. The pool was even better than my visit last year, especially with the addition of the Cyclone, and the village was absolutely beautiful with all the christmas decorations. I may have ended up in an igloo for a while.. Bowling was great with the fluorescent brightness and everyone was pleased with the amount of ducks and geese there were wandering around. To round off the weekend, I also acquired a boyfriend as well as many special memories of my friends that none of us will ever forget. Everyone agreed that, although we would probably have had fun wherever we went because of the company, going to Center Parcs definitely made the weekend even more magical and perfect, and we now want to make it a yearly holiday. It isn't necessarily the cheapest holiday but in this case you definitely get what you pay for, and although we were helped with the cost as part of my birthday present from my grandparents, the total cost would still have been easily possible to afford despite our ages and various economical positions.

Room Tip: Even the basic cheaper villas are still very nice and comfortable so don't feel like you have to...

We have just returned from a fabulous family break at Elveden Center Parcs. This was our second visit as a family, myself, husband, daughter age 16 and two sons age 13 and 10. We stayed in a three bedroom woodland lodge (Pine 287)
The lodge had everything we needed to self cater for the weekend. A lovely cosy lounge area with a log burner and patio doors with a gorgeous view of the forest. I love the way Center Parcs design the lodges, there are hundreds of people staying on site but when you're in your lodge it feels like there is no one there but you, you don't see your neighbours (apart from the squirrels, deer and ducks!) We love it! The beds are so comfy, I LOVE the quilts!

Winter wonderland is so pretty, lots of lights and decorations. No expense spared, little displays fill the empty corners, reindeer, a magical Santa's grotto, fireworks etc. We took our children to see Santa (our 10 year old still believes so we took them all in!!) the grotto is so nicely decorated. No mulled wine this year though?! Santa was great! Well worth the £10 each, a great gift and a lovely photo each. Fireworks on the last evening (Sunday) were amazing!

The pool is the highlight for us, especially the rapids! We visited the pool six times during our stay! The Cyclone ride is great and queues not too bad. Loved the new Venture cove, great fun! We had such a laugh on the rapids in the evening, they seem faster at night? Shout out to Charlie one of the lifeguards who sang Christmas songs to us as we set off down the rapids! Brought us a smile! Unlike the lifeguard who gave me a look of disgust as my dismount from the cyclone raft wasn't very graceful and I soaked him!! A few moans about the changing rooms, two of the evenings we were there all the shower gel dispensers had run out, a couple of the locks on the toilet doors were broken and not all the locker key straps fasten properly.

We didn’t book in for many activities as they are quite expensive. My husband took the boys to do Field Archery, which they enjoyed although my youngest found it a bit tricky. We played badminton a couple of times, which is quite reasonably priced. Last year we did Laser Combat which was brilliant!

On the whole the facilities are excellent, beautiful surroundings, everywhere is very clean and tidy, shops are lovely, food in Hucks was great, a lovely Christmassy feeling! What we did really feel let it down this year was the staff, with the exception of Charlie and Santa the rest of the staff we met seemed unhappy or bored. No smiles, just doing their job which is such a shame as this can really make a huge difference. We will definitely return to Center Parcs but are considering booking into Woburn next year as we think the staff will be new and more enthusiastic! Come on Center Parcs sort your customer service out it’s letting you down!

We have been to Center Parcs in Elveden twice previously and went for a third time a few weeks ago. We left our two teenage kids at home with their grandparents. We quickly realised there was no Vodafone reception in our villa so cycled the whole complex to find a signal which never happened. During the first 24 hours we were really worried as we knew that we could not be contacted in case of an emergency. We ended up having to use the phone boxes around the complex & paying for phone calls whereas if there had been Vodafone reception our calls would have been free.

We will not be returning to Elveden purely because of this. I cannot believe that this fact is not mentioned at all during the booking or even the check-in process.

Not happy !

Thanks for posting.

I am sorry to read that you will not be visiting again due to the lack of signal for your mobile phone.

As I am sure that you will understand the reception of a mobile signal is dependant upon the mobile phone company that you have your contract with and is entirely outside our control.

We do provide telephone boxes around the village and these have all emergency contact details available in them. In addition, some of our accommodation units do have phones provided.

Again, we are sorry that you will not be returning.

Kind regards

We've been visiting CP for years, and Elveden is our favourite. This time we had accommodation that needed a bit of work, but no doubt it will get done.
The festive entertainment was by far the best we've ever seen, they had some amazing entertainers in the village, and the fireworks were amazing. They also had a "new" santa who was very engaging with our Daughter.
As for the facilities, well the pool just gets better and better with a fantastic new kids play area, plus the Cyclone which is a fantastic thrill.

Have been going to Center Parcs for the last 20 years and have had great fun every time. It's certainly not a place for just the kids. We've had wonderful meals at several of the restaurants, it is a bit expensive but there is a lovely atmosphere wherever you go. The archery, ten pin bowling, badminton, tennis, crazy and pitch and putt golf is brilliant but the cyclone is terrifying, the only good thing about it was hearing my 40 year old sister screaming at the top of her lungs on the way down!!

Room Tip: Try to book a villa close to the plaza

We've have just arrived home from Center Parcs.. and we want to go back! From start to finish it was truly a great great five days in Elvedon Forest.

After a quick check in at the arrivals lodge, we arrived at lodge 250 in pine. It was about a 5 minute walk from the Village Square (even quicker on bike!) and on the outskirts of the park so you can fully enjoy the wildlife, peace and location. The lodge was extremely clean and well equipped with everything you need. It was great to feed the squirrels and birds on our lodge patio every morning too.

We enjoyed a variety of activities throughout the week including the fireworks, bike rides, mini golf, games of pool at Foresters Inn, Aqua Sana spa morning and the amazing Subtropical Swimming Paradise. Highly recommend late night swimming, was the best. Outside rapids and Cyclone fab too, could have easily gone to the pool everyday.

You can make Center Parcs as cheap or expensive as you like, we dined out at a few times and would highly recommend Huck's and Bella Italia. Cafe Rouge breakfast on the last day was delicious too. Other times we dined in our lodge by bringing food with us. Make sure you visit the bakery in Parc Marc too - amazing!

Overall, we are definitely looking to come back soon after a relaxing, fun week at Center Parcs.

Room Tip: Being on the outskirts of the park is great if you don't mind a quick walk - very peaceful, quie...

Just returned from a festive weekend away with nine friends and we couldn't of wished for a better experience. All female group aged between 20-45 and all commented on what a fantastic time they had. Fantastic customer service from arrival to check-out. We stayed in an exclusive games lodge and it was well worth the money. Evenings lazing under the stars in the hot tub were bliss! Arrived home last night and have already re-booked for the same weekend next year!

Room Tip: When booking an exclusive games lodge make sure to request one with all four bedrooms upstairs as th...
