I stayed here with two friends. Leonardo welcomed us, and within a few minutes of arriving we were relaxed on the patio with wonderful views of the Tuscan hillsides. The flat is spacious with a large kitchen, perfect for cooking evening meals. There are three bathrooms, so we all had one each. Lots of hot water. Not to be missed is the opportunity to use the kitchen in the courtyard to make pizzas or use the barbecue. The kitchen was very clean, well stocked with wood, with simple instructions on how to make pizzas and fire up the oven. We had a great evening making our own pizzas, and eating them on the adjacent patio. The property has a lovely pool with plenty of loungers. Leonardo was about everyday to give advice or answer questions. Although there were other guests you could easily believe you were the only ones, and the staff working nearby were very unobtrusive. You definitely need a car, although the railway station is only a few kilometres away, making florence an easy destination to get to. Ideally located for all the chianti towns, this holiday rental is perfect.
Flat 3 exceeded our expectations! It was very spacious both inside and out, with so many different areas to sit and chill out. The apartment itself managed to stay very cool even though it was between 38-40 degrees outside. Very functional kitchen with everything needed for preparing and cooking meals. Casual dining area within kitchen, larger dining area attached to the cosy sitting room, and of course the bonus of the huge, private outside seating area. We also enjoyed the use of the pizza oven on 2 of the evenings, sharing freshly made, smokey pizzas with some of the other guests and drinking Leonardo's tasty chianti.
The area itself is simply beautiful and as other guests have described very central for visiting many towns and villages. Roxanna will give you useful maps, tips and train times upon arrival. We vistited Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and Greve in Chianti and if we'd had more time would have also visited Volterra and Montepulciano. Our favourite was San Gimignano (medieval Manhatten). We also had a couple of mornings / afternoons by the pool, which was highly appreciated by our two teenagers. The other guests appeared to go out for a full day, every day, so often it felt like we had our own very large private pool! A truly lovely place to stay in a remarkable area that we fell in love with.
