“Amazing Villa with Loads of Warmth and Charm”
Reviewed 14 June 2017 for a stay in May 2017

This is our second visit to Villa Marina - it is wonderful. The location is amazing and is close to many airports - this time we flew to Toulouse which was about 50 minutes drive.

Okay the Villa - 3 beautiful bedrooms one huge double and two twin rooms. We had five adults and one older child and there was plenty of room. Kitchen has everything you need and the welcome pack has everything to get you started on a great holiday. The TV is English stations which will keep the kids happy on a rainy day. The grounds are beautiful with grape vines, a small veggie garden, many outdoor seating and eating areas and a wonderful heated pool. (Wont be needed in August, but in May it meant we could swim every day rain or shine).

Near the Villa there are so many places to go - Carcassonne, Narbonne - wonderful market on Saturday along the river, Mirepoix - amazing market on Monday morning, Limoix. For a great beach day go to Valras Plage - just over an hour away but nice beach that is quite shallow much of the day - great for kids.

For dinner go and see Elaine at Auberge du Domincan in Montreal (five minutes drive). Absolutely wonderful food and not too expensive!

I could go on an on - just go to Villa Marina - you wont regret it...

“Sheer perfection”
Reviewed 7 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Spent a couple of weeks here at the end of May, arriving during the peak of the national fuel strike. We didn't need to move from the villa to start with thanks to welcome pack tiding us over the initial hassle. Wonderfully equipped and is every bit as good in reality as the photos suggest. The area is a wonderful one to enjoy. We particularly enjoyed the markets at Mirepoix and the local vineyard, full detail of which are in the villa. We certainly don't intend this to be our last stay which I guess is the ultimate recommendation to others,
Next time however I think I will take a large, new Jerry Can. if I dont need it for extra fuel, the local domaine does a lovely Merlot at 1.30 euros a liter if you bring your own container!

“Blissful!”
Reviewed 5 July 2015 for a stay in May 2015

What a gem of a holiday property! From the amazingly generous welcome package the owner could not be friendlier or more helpful. It was such a nice touch to have an English speaking housekeeper on hand to help and supply clean towels and bedding half way throughand a daily visit from the very friendly gardener to keep the pool in tip top condition. Weather cool to start with but developed into a real heatwave so the pool which had to be very bravely entered at the beginning became blissful by the end and future guests will get full benefit from the pool cover installed while we were there and the heater being fitted the week after! We were so grateful for all the lovely shady areas to sit. The property is very pretty and with lovely views towards the snow capped Pyrenees. We ahve never been away this early in the year but the bonus is the lovely luch green countryside and the lack of crowds. A great area of France to explore and fabulous wine ( dont wait like us until the night before you leave to try the local cave at La Force- take your plastic bottles to fill up and then invest in bottles to bring home!)
Would love to come again

“In a nutshell PERFECT!”
Reviewed 2 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Absolutely loved Villa Marina, the villa itself is very spacious, clean & well maintained, English local contacts on hand if any problems, pool although a little cold when you first get in soon warms up after a few seconds (incredible as we stayed 9-23rd May), The most equipped villa we have ever stayed in, every kitchen utensil going, beds very comfortable, this really is a home from home experience.

The area itself is amazing, very central to the most amazing places dripping with history. The drive from the airport were clear straight main roads (which were extremely quiet). Local villages very pretty Belveze Du Razes nearest village with shops, pizzeria, bar, pattiiserie, lake, park, crèche, lovely walks, Carcassonne obviously very beautiful, Allet du Bains, Cuissa, Quillan, dripping in the most incredible scenery castles, vines, hillside villages but wide main roads not scary at all, the reason I say this is we went to Montbell du Lac via Limoux We went this way and its beautiful scenery and if you want hairpin windey roads (perfect for motorbikes) and like you see on Tour De France, alternatively if you don't have faint hearted people with you go there via Mirepoix and you'll go through beautiful villages Camon and then challabre, honestly this is the best Holiday we have ever had and we will definitely be back to visit more of the area and Villa Marina. enjoy x
P.s make sure you take a lovely walk into Cailhavel and visit Keith & Lisa at Dotty Bistro they will offer you the warmest welcome and amazing food. Then take a walk in the vines on your way back, this is what dreams are made of x
