Three nights very relaxing B&B. Delicious welcoming blueberry muffins on arrival. Breakfast all locally produced bacon, sausages, eggs etc for full English Breakfast. Fiona's homemade jams, and FRESHLY made bread were fantastic. We were the only guests staying and so also had use of the main kitchen/living room to ourselves! It is such a cozy warm environment and so homely. The views from our bed are just glorious especially the sunrise. Fiona suggested a couple of pubs locally which we really liked, especially the George and Dragon in Rowde. Great information on sightseeing and loved our time in Georgian City of Bath. Andy had hoped to play some more tennis as their son is a good player and happy to 'play/hit some balls' if around.
Really happy with our stay and can't wait to return when next in UK.

We spent four nights as a family (including two children, one young dog) on what turned out to be a freezing weekend. But the Coach House kept us warm and comfortable and provided an excellent base for exploring the local scenery. Fiona and Matthew were the height of friendliness, although not intrusive, and have obviously given a great deal of thought to how to make a stay pleasant: the collection of maps was especially appreciated by me but there was also a good collection of informaiton about local sights. We had hoped to play tennis but the weather made that uninviting, so instead we played pool in the family den. The swimming pool and outdoor table football would have been used in warmer times. A log fire is always a favourite for us and the one in the Coach House was very welcome. We didn't eat out so it was useful to have both a well arranged kitchen as well as easy access (10 mins) to the Waitrose in Melksham. The house itself has been converted beautifully and mixes practicality (stone floor in the hall to handle muddy dogs or children) with comfort (very soft beds, the two super bathrooms et al). There were sheep and rabbits around the property, plenty of birdlife and we also saw deer on a walk up the hill to Bewley. But the best walk and views were up Beacon Hill whihc is visible form the house. We had a short visit but have no hesitation in recommending it.

Just returned from a week staying at the gorgeous Coach House in Chittoe. The accommodation is superb - from the expansive living area, four adults, a 10 week old baby and a 2 year old dog fitting very comfortably around the wood burner, to the sumptuous bedrooms and impeccably finished bathroom and wet room.

Wonderful warm welcome, lovely grounds. The coach house is an excellent base to visit many attractions in Wiltshire or a wonderful retreat to simply unwind in.

We began our plans for the next visit on the drive home.

We have just (July 2012) had a fabulous stay in "The Coach House" at The Old Vicarage in Chittoe.
We took our daughter and our 5 month old puppy and we all had a lovely time in this beautifully restored cottage.
I am soooo glad we took the doggy crate for the puppy to sleep in rather than roam around the living room unsupervised as this cottage is filled with lovely furnishings and antique(?) furniture and definitely not the kind of place to let big muddy paws run riot or puppy teeth have a chewing fest!
Luckily there are beautiful stone floors downstairs which are easy to keep clean - (no dogs upstairs of course!!).
The bedrooms (very relaxing), bathroom and wetroom (very modern) feel luxurious.
Lovely views from the bedroom balconies.
We found the living room very comfortable and well equipped.
Outside the gardens are peaceful with lots of brilliant dog walking places so we were roaming around with the dog a lot of the time, it is also easy to get to some lovely attractions and villages. Lacock is a beautiful village just nearby and at the other extreme, 1hour to Tyntsfield House (NT) is well worth it.
The cottage is a wonderfully peaceful haven to return to at the end of a great day exploring.
The hosts made us very welcome, gave us lots of useful information and made sure that we had everything we needed throughout our stay.
I wasn't very brave when it came to the unheated swimming pool but my daughter enjoyed it.

My husband, my two children (5 and 2) and I stayed at the Coach House for one week before Easter.

The area is a great destination for a UK country break - Longleat Safari Park, Bowood House (amazing adventure playground for the kids), Salisbury, Stonehenge. Avebury Stone Circle and Manor House, Wells, Glastonbury, Bath... there is an awful lot to do to suit all tastes and all ages!

The setting was simply gorgeous - we had completely unspoilt views over the downs which were lovely. It really is idyllic. The owners are in the house next door and on hand - but not at all overlooking the property.

The cottage itself is incredibly stylish and elegant whilst still being comfortable and welcoming! Very spacious and the open plan kitchen diner living room works very well. Simply gorgeous fixtures and fittings and the most comfortable beds ever! There were also 'all mod cons' for an easy break; under floor heating, a 'wet room' power shower, dishwasher, freeview TV with DVD player and a washing machine. We felt very lucky and privieged to be staying somewhere so special. Thank you Fiona and family for sharing your cottage with us. One of the best - if not the best - self catering cottages we have stayed in - and it has some stiff competition!

We recently stayed at the Coach House Chittoe Lacock in Wiltshire, and had a very rewarding stay there. The Coach House is in a wonderful location with so much to see in the surrounding area. The Coach House and facilities are probably the best we have encountered through many years of having rented cottages all over Europe. No one who opts for this House will be disappointed because everything possible is catered for within this property.Added to this your hosts will do everything to ensure your stay is made memorable.

Only just seen this is now registered for reviews...we stayed here for the weekend in Autumn 2011. Delightful 2 bedroom 2 storey converted coach house with lots of light, comfortable and spacious rooms (lovely open plan kitchen and sitting room downstairs), and the owners have furnished it with family furniture and decorations. Very comfortable bedrooms, everything was spotlessly clean when we arrived with big fluffy towels in the bathrooms. The owners house is the other side of the courtyard so you are not connected, but can be if you have any questions. Lots to see and do locally, Lacock, Bath, lovely walks in this beautiful part of Wiltshire etc etc. Pool and tennis court in the gardens which are available if you ask (possibly a small charge). Very relaxing and calming weekend and would like to return.
