I enjoyed a very pleasant New Years Eve dinner at this hotel. The only suggestions for improvement would be that it would have been a nice gesture to have been offfered a glass of champagne upkn arrival as this was New Years Eve. The other suggestion would be to serve the cheese selection at room temperature. It was apparent that they had been plated up and then put in the fridge - something the french would never dream of doing! By doing this the taste and texture of the cheeses had been spoilt

I have stayed here before and it was excellent so decided to go back. I was quoted a price for dinner, bed and breakfast for 2 adults and 2 kids, but when I paid the bill our dinner had been added as extra and there were children supplements, with the explanation I was obviously misquoted. They were not willing to waive the food cost but did include a bottle of wine and remove the child supplements after quite a bit of 'discussion'.

The rooms, service and grounds are top notch, but the food is nothing special which is a shame.

The spa is nice but I would say that for a 'child friendly' hotel, the hours that the kids can swim are pretty limited.

Great place but have been left with a bad taste with regard to being charged c.£100 extra for dinner.

I would still recommend.

We couldn't find any single aspect of this Hotel and dinner experience which didn't deserve full marks. From the check in to the Dining Staff, everyone was personable and welcoming. Our room was clean and spacious , cleverly blending traditional furnishings with hi-tec accessories. Everything has been considered at this Hotel to make the stay perfect. Dinner was superb, matching any meal we had eaten around the World in the most luxurious and prestigious Hotels.
Its a haven for a peaceful escape, away from the madding crowds, and they don't come any better.

My sister, mum and myself came here for a weekend of girly pampering and we got exactly what we wanted.

We stayed in Polo Cottage (sleeps 4), 2 ensuites and a living room, our room was close to the main house so we felt part of things and yet had our own privacy. The cottage was immaculate and cosy with everything we needed including bath robes, etc.

The food on the set menu was divine, both nights I tried things I would not usually go for and it paid off. Perfect sized portions, delicious food and the service was lovely. Attentive, but not stuffy. They don't stand on ceremony here and if that's what you want go to Champneys or some other spa/hotel!

The wine we had was gorgeous, we can recommend the Sicilian house white, the cotes du Rhone and the Italian half bottle of red!

They provided us with a map when we wanted to go walking and didn't have a clue about where to go! (south downs - you need to be keen!) It's like a home from home in the drawing room, the sofas are comfy and it's light and airy.

We booked treatments in the spa which was lovely but unfortunately the Steam Room was out of order - would have preferred to know beforehand! I would take note of the times when children are allowed in the swimming pool though. It's a limited time but a bit of a shock! The gym is small and well equipped and blissfully quiet at 8am on a Saturday!

We'll be going back again and we can all recommend it. I would say if you like a classic spa experience with that type of service (I don't) this isn't it but it suited us down to the ground.

It sounds like you had a fabulous weekend, embracing all of Park House's facilities and the sounding area, including the South Downs!
We look forward to welcoming you back , perhaps in the Summer months when the outdoor pool is open, it's a great spot on a sunny day to relax.

We booked a one night break through 'Secret Escapes' which just about sums up this delightful and stylish country house hotel. Throughout our stay we felt more like guests in a very upmarket country home then in a hotel. Our room 4 (Deluxe) was large and comfortable with views over the garden, the homely feel was enhanced by the tasteful ornaments, furnishings and books on shelves. Lovely bathroom with both bath and separate shower and Aromatherapy Associates toiletries..
The PH2O spa and indoor pool were also excellent, the pool was warm with excellent changing facilities and we both had spa treatments which were of a very high standard and good value.
Dinner in the restaurant was beautifully presented with a good choice of locally sourced ingredients and tasted superb and the same applied to breakfast the next morning and the cream tea that we had on arrival!
The staff were without exception welcoming, friendly and efficient.
We look forward to returning.

My second stay in two years at this attractive country house.
most staff are pleasant and trying hard. some are surly and make it feel like an imposition.
Fails - no-one available to help with with big suitcase up two flights stairs on check-in/out.
water dripped all night into a tank near my room (11) which i recalled was same issue two years ago. i raised at reception in the morning and the lady confirmed it was an ongoing problem - erm so why put me in there? i ended up with about 4 hours of sleep.
the young female waitress really doesn't have to tell every member of the dinner table to be careful the plate is hot. most of us had eaten in a restaurant many times before!
threadbare carpets in a couple of places and chipped paint suggest maintenance dropping behind. needs some tlc
could have been 5 star.
positives for the guys in the bar and restaurant who are first class - well done.

Dear Guest,

We will pass on your praise to the bar and restaurant team who looked after you during your stay, thank you.

It's a shame that you were unhappy with your stay. Things of course do happen from time to time that our out of our control. Such as the broken value on a water tank above your room. It's important that you as a guest leave feeling satisfied that every effort was made to solve the problem and that the remainder of your stay is a pleasant experience.
I am very disappointed to read that we did not achieve this and I am sadden that you were unable to convey this to me when we spoke during your stay. As I had very much understood from our conversation that you were happy with the outcome and were looking forward to enjoying the remainder of your stay.
Our wonderful night porter Peter crawled around loft spaces and other rooms trying to locate the disturbance as soon as he was informed, unable to locate the source you were offered the neighbouring room immediately. The following morning on receiving the report from Peter we offered our sincere apologies, a further room change (of your choosing) a full refund for the previous night. The maintenance engineer located the problem that same morning and a part was ordered straight away to fix the fault.

Once again our sincere apologies.

Kind regards
Rebecca Coonan
