Room standard. Tv kettle decent wardrobe. Shower was rubbish. Worst ive ever experienced. Trickled out and was scalding hot. Had to soap up and use the sink to rinse just to get some sort of wash. Beds ok. Breakfast not included. Ok For one night wouldn't stop again

Spent two nights in a very small room with even smaller shower which fell apart when I tried to use. no contact with staff as all busy on their mobile phones. this is a hotel which does not offer breakfast !! went for a walk at 8.15am came back and locked out, noone answered the emergency phone !! workman let me in through the decimated kitchen !!

The Knot is very handily placed near the beach at Westgate on sea and only a 10 minute walk from the station. The hotel was fine for my needs of a place of rest after a hectic 2 day schedule.
The bar is bright and the beer Garden is a delight and child friendly. The room was clean and adequate with sufficient tea and coffee for the 2 days and the staff were very friendly
The downside is that if you require an early night you may have to put up with a punning disco from below. I don't know if all rooms suffer but I could hear it on the top floor. To me if I had not had a busy day I would have gone down and enjoyed it but others may not have wanted to.

we stayed for three nights and the location is great, takes about a minute to walk to the sea front. as we arrived around 9pm we were planing on eating at the hotel but were told there had been a kitchen fire. we went straight to a local curry house and on arriving back the place was locked up. we knocked and were let in to be told we had to use another door needing an entry code that was meant to be in the room but wasnt. the room was fine quite spacious but the desk had no chair. there werent any teaspoons on the tea tray and no glasses or plastic cups to have a drink with in the bathroom. when told about this the girl on the bar happily sorted it out. we had a voucher to go to the beach front cafe for breakfast which was fine. the room was not serviced at all during our stay and we had to ask for extra loo roll when we ran out. our room was on the front of the hotel and as it was hot we had to open the windows but then the room smelled of cigarette smoke from people standing outside the hotel. the internet connection was hit and miss. the staff were lovely and friendly but sadly seemed more concerned with running the bar than the upkeep of the rooms. a local band played music on friday night which was really good and very loud so if you wanted an early night which we didnt it could have a been a problem for some. we booked via hotels.com and it would have been helpful to know the situation regarding the restaurant. i will be taking it up with hotels.com.

Room Tip: room 3 is quite spacious but its on the front of the hotel so there are people smoking directly bene...

We stayed 1 night the meet and greet was nice and the escort to your room is a nice touch, the room was comfortable and clean tea/coffee making facility , bed was lovey but needed a good pillow you get 2 but both so flat, a nice touch in bathroom with mini toiletries and fresh towels. Was disappointed that last minute .com had not informed us that there had been a kitchen fire a few weeks before so no food was available ,and after the journey we were looking for something to eat, we were given 2 vouchers to use in the local cafe for breakfast a 2 minute walk away, where there was a lack of communication as to them giving us breakfast . After paying for it because we could not be bothered we were refunded £5.00each.on a whole not to bad but not sure would go back, do see it becoming a lovely b&b lots of potential

This hotel is ranked first in westgate on sea because as far as we could tell it was the only hotel/pub. We were told breakfast was included and would be between 9am and 10am. Between those times the door to the breakfast room remained locked and so if there was a breakfast in there we couldn't get at it. The exit has a key code pad, but no one gave us the key code, so in the morning when we were departing we had to take turns to go for a walk/ take luggage to the car! On top of all this the bed is so soft that 2 people constantly roll into the middle. The staff seemed to be struggling to do everything,(and the ones we saw couldn't have been more polite), and were very apologetic when they ran out of a drink. We didn't see any menus and weren't offered one, so I can't tell you about the food. I have rung and asked about the breakfast and apparently the chef had family problems of some sort. We are also told that we're not entitled to a refund because the breakfast was included. I totally understand that staff may sometimes have family issues and so that is why we didn't get any breakfast, but a refund of some of the cost might have been a nice gesture.

We were made very welcome on arrival. The Knot delivers what it says on packet and more. Lovely bar and restaurant. We ate in the restaurant, the food was amazing and I'm a bit of a foodie so take my word for it, delicious roast pork with crackling cooked to perfection. The room was comfortable, modern and very clean with a great en-suit walk in shower. We were lucky to have good weather, the pub garden is very large and well kept and for those with kids, a bouncy castle. It's walking distance, actually hopping distance from the seafront. Breakfast included which was a real Full English. Happy to recommend and well done the Knot your hospitality and food was 5 Star. I would revisit. Great Value.
