I was happy to be in the room that we were placed in. It was part of the new rooms that had been added on to the hotel. The rooms were state of the art. I had a chance to take a look at the older rooms and they were horrible to say the least. The internet was poor and only avaible in a few areas. The staff was not helpful and unkind. If you go, please stay in one of the nicer rooms.

Room Tip: You must stay in the new part that has just been added. The old rooms are horrible.

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel.
Hotel very well located with commodities just around (little supermarket, cash machine).
The room was clean, quiet with air conditioned, beautiful bathroom.
The hotel has also a restaurant and a pool.

The team was nice and always available.

I recommend this hotel.

This is our second stay at the Tulija Express. The manager had given our junior suite to another customer when we arrived, so we stayed in a regular room the first night and then changed to the junior suite for the next two nights. There wasn't that much difference between the two rooms, except for a couple of extra mirrors and a flat screen tv in the junior suite. The place is clean, but is terribly worn and in desperate need of major renovations. The restaurant has great breakfasts, but I wouldn't recommend it for other meals. The hotel is ok for the price you pay, but don't expect any frills.

Yes it is cheap and if you just need a place to stop of after visiting the palenque ruins it is an option (if your not fussy). Rooms in the old section are from the 70's long forgotten - tired and dingy. They give the impression of being dirty even though they are clean. Rooms in the new section are much better with safe and modern feel. Its pot luck which one you get. There is the pool with broken sun loungers.

It isnt where booking.com says it is. It is outside of town a long way from anything. Be warned! There is a new section and an old section. Be careful when booking. The images are of the newer rooms and then they put you in the older rooms. We stated this be seeing as the staff couldn't care less, we didnt get very far. The hotel is in dire need of a revamp. you'd be better off staying in town somewhere else.

I am an independent traveler, a 68-year old woman. When I first checked in (having made my reservation on-line at least a week or two ahead) I was given a room on the ground floor which had a sliding glass door open to the garden. The lock on this door was broken, so it could not be locked. THIS WAS UNSAFE, ESPECIALLY FOR A WOMAN TRAVELING ALONE!

When I complained, I was given a different room, which was safe.

However, on Friday night and Saturday afternoon and night, the bar above the hotel's restuarant played incredibly loud music, with the bass booming so loud I couldn't sleep, even with earplugs. I called the desk, and at one point went to the desk, but "it is a party" and there was nothing they could do about it. Yes, there was. They could have asked to have the music turned down lower, and the bass turned down.

The music finally stopped around midnight. What a poor excuse for a hotel. I would never recommend it to anyone. How dare they put ANYONE in a rooom that is not safe, especially a woman traveling alone.
