We had lunch here today, had never visited before and didn't know what to expect.
It's lovely place, well looked after, quaint, without being "overdone". Charlotte at the bar and our waitress was very friendly and welcoming, the menu impressive. I would have liked to have been able to start at the beginning and work my way through it!
We had the spiced parsnip soup, which was served in hot bowls with a wide rim, perfect to keep the warm bread warm. For main course, we had the cod loin with prawns, served in an unusual and excellent sauce. We requested chips, and they too were excellent. The vegetables were nicely cooked and presented, though not generous.
Service time was fine, enough time to enjoy the place but not in the slightest slow.
All in all, we had a delightful lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thoroughly recommend.More
