There was a mix-up in the booking and no-one there to let us in when we arrived. Otherwise it was an excellent cottage - spacious, clean, well furnished and in a good location for travelling to any part of the island without having to go over the same roads all the time. We didn't have children with us but it was clearly a place that would appeal to families.

“Everything you want in a family holiday”

We had a wonderful week exploring the Island with Kionslieu Farm as our base. The cottage was well appointed, clean and very comfortable. The kids (9&11) were never bored at the cottage with the rabbits, goats and the search for the Manx cats to keep them busy. Thoroughly recommended.

“Great for families”

This is our third visit to Kionslieu farm and we will definitely be going back again. Fiona and Tony are very welcoming and the farm is very safe for young children. There is lots for them to do from walking the goats, feeding the chickens and meeting the horses. We were lucky with the weather this year so spent the evenings having bbqs on the patio with the family who were staying next door while the children played together. The cottages have everything you need and are spotlessly clean. Looking forward to our next visit. The Vipond-Hill family.

“Lovely relaxed family holiday spot”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Just had a lovely few days here. Perfect for families with a great play area and play house and lots of animals to see and interact with. The owners really couldn't have been more welcoming, involving our children whenever we bumped into them on the farm. We had no problems during our stay, but i would have had no hesitation in approaching the owners if we had needed to. If i had to pick any downsides, our cottage had two single beds put together instead of a double, and the traditional cottage decor wouldn't be to everyone's taste. But, overall, as a self catering cottage, it absolutely met our needs, and exceeded our expectations in terms of what there was available to us and the children on site.

Management Response
26 Sep 2017
Hi Susan

I am so sorry I haven't responded sooner to your review. Thanks so much for your kind comments.

Just to let you know that we have now replaced the twin beds with a wonderfully comfortable 6ft bed, which can also be separated into singles if required.

Best wishes

“Fantastic Position”
Reviewed 12 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

I have used Peacocks rest many times in the past for the TT fortnight. It is in a fantastic position for access to the TT mountain course at Ballacraine & to the rest of The Island. There is plenty to do all over The Island - Castletown & Peel are both easily reached by a short drive, under 10 minutes to Peel for the supermarket. Everone on the farm is very friendly & it is a very quiet relaxing place to stay even for the shortest of times. There are all the things you will need - washer & dryer across the yard from the cottages & all the stuff to self cater in the cottage. The cottage is as always clean & tidy & everything works perfectly.
I would not hesitate to book one of Fiona & Tony's cottages for a stay on The Isle of Man, I have already made my booking for TT 2015!
I have not had any problems with my stays at Kionslieu 6 x 2 weeks over the last 6 years!
Look forward to seeing Fiona & Tony in 2015

“Immaculate accomodation, friendly hosts and peaceful surroundings”
Reviewed 7 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We were pleasantly surprised by the cottage and farm. We were met with a smile and our accommodation was immaculately clean and tidy as well as fitted out with comfortable furniture and beds. The farm was a delight with chickens, sheep and horses - all beautifully cared for. Fiona and Tony went about their work discretely and all around was maintained to the highest standard. Any requests for help or information were met immediately. There was plenty of information to hand regarding places of interest and local services as well as books and games to keep guests amused on rainy days. It would be a pleasure to visit again and we would have no hesitation in recommending the holiday cottage to anyone wanting to visit the Isle of Man. As it is in a rural location it is necessary to have your own transport although on a couple of occasions we needed a taxi which was simple to arrange.
